Apparently I’m on day 48. So on Saturday they can test and( hopefully) release. In the meantime they’ve sent a ransom pic (thought I’d share just to remind us that wait is worth it)
Looks ??.

I’m still not entirely certain on the process they go through. So did they test your car immediately, deem it to be in the worst category (9 I believe) and then you have to wait for the 50 day mark? Or do all cars just automatically have to wait for the 50 day mark before any testing can be done?
Apparently they text it in Day 50 and if all ok it moves from Cat 9 to Cat 8 which triggers release

I think I'm going to ask for a ransom pic as well as Octopus placed my order with a dealership 2 hours away.

I want proof of life.

When does this "50 day count" start? Is it the day it arrives at the final port? Day it was built?

My personal theory is that there was a batch of defective sealant for the battery tray that was failing some number of days after the tray was sealed. That would explain the let it sit for 50 days and then test it for water infiltration process.

Take that theory with enough salt to rim three dozen margaritas because it assumes that the report earlier that they are testing for water infiltration inside the battery tray is in fact what is happening.

Two 4S's originally supposed to be collected on the 18th May, Stop / Sell initiated on that day, so a sad phone call received an hour prior to collection. One picked up yesterday, and one hopefully early next week

No fault of the OPC, nothing to do with water, two happy boys ?

Lovely! Can I ask what your build complete date was via the app?

Interesting that it has a number plate, I was told by the SA that they can't be registered until the stop is lifted.
I got my plate while mine was still on the boat!

I can't believe this story.

My car was built exactly 40 days ago (left Zuffenhausen on April 23rd). I picked it up from the dealership May 15th. This stop-sell sh*tshow started on May 17th. How in earth can it be sealing and why are they using different sealing compounds that affect x amount of cars in an unknown timeframe? I'm pretty sure many of these stop-sales are for cars that have been build early April (or sooner) and others that appear to have exited the factory in May. I mean... there doesn't appear to be any consistency.

I guess only Porsche knows.

I have some dates now, my car was build complete on 18/04 and they are hopeful of moving to WNT8 on 7/05.

Mine was built April 5th. Arrived at the port May 11th. I’ve been given a maybe date of June 21st but was told that’s really just a placeholder and they may not know until the car physically gets to them…so I’m way past my 50 days and it’s still just sitting at the port for god knows what…

You were one of the unlucky ones. My lesson was to call around lots of dealers until you find one with a cancelation slot. I ordered mine 2 months before it was built this way!
