If you search on the Porsche website for current recalls, you can add your VIN to check. Mine came back with zero recalls. Have any of those that have already been told there IS an issue with their car tried this search? Just wondering if this is an indication of whether my car is affected or not.

mine is on about day 35 of the 50 day wait at the dealers but the VIN says ‘no recalls’ when I enter it.

Can someone explain this supposed "water ingress" thing to me? I must misunderstand, because it does not make sense.

Only thing I can think of is that even the driest of dry airs has enough humidity to guarantee appearance of the issue after 50 days? (So in typical UK weather: 12 minutes?)

Most likely a made up story. SA's make shit up all the time. I remember someone here was told that while the cars wait for heaters, the cars which were already sold were stored in some special, inside storage, while all the others were parked outside waiting for their heaters. :CWL:

@OzzieT After your post, I read a couple of news articles about Australia quarantining cars. Wow. Never imagined that an imported car could have what the articles call "biosafety" risks. Articles mention six-week delays. I wonder how they identify and clean 'bio-unsafe' cars. This globalization thing isn't all it's cracked up to be.
Every car is manually inspecting. Any minor findings result in the car being cleaned. Major findings and the ship needs to be cleaned also. I was just at my dealer. The backlog from the ports is now flowing through to them. My dealer has just received 60 new cars in the space of a couple of days. More delays ahead for me I'm afraid.

Apparently I’m on day 48. So on Saturday they can test and( hopefully) release. In the meantime they’ve sent a ransom pic (thought I’d share just to remind us that wait is worth it)

Looks ??.

I’m still not entirely certain on the process they go through. So did they test your car immediately, deem it to be in the worst category (9 I believe) and then you have to wait for the 50 day mark? Or do all cars just automatically have to wait for the 50 day mark before any testing can be done?

Lovely! Can I ask what your build complete date was via the app?

Interesting that it has a number plate, I was told by the SA that they can't be registered until the stop is lifted.

They won't have officially registered it, but allocated a reg on their system. Mine has a reg plate attached to.

Build date was 14th April. I asked the same question about the reg, cos my SA told me the same thing.

hopefully they've kept it away from customers being able to walk into the showroom and put their grubby mitts on it! ?
