We tend to compare to teslas because they're both EVs and tesla is like the worldwide standard still.

Ha, yes I totally get that. The assembly line doesn't seem to be Porsche's problem. It's other logistics and use of non-differentiating components that aren't working. Those issues should be even EASIER to solve because it's not mass produced.

Mine still at Grimsby. Paid remaining balance 17th of May.

Mine is coming to Glasgow OPC too. Built on May 5th but has sat at Grimsby since May 18th. No idea when it will be ready to collect.

Mine was pushed to June 22nd. How it takes 4 months to transport a car is mind boggling. My build was finished mid-February. At this point I am just done with all of this. Porsche doesn't deserve my money. I thought it'd be cool owning one, but if this is any indication of things to come, I'll save myself the future frustrations. I'm developing a strong animosity towards the brand due to their poor management.

20 months from first deposit to delivery here. Over a year of cold calling dealers to find an allocation. Even after got allocation, which was only a week away from freeze date, overall 2 month delay from initial estimated delivery to actual delivery. Custom Porsche order is something that requires a lot of patience, perseverance, and financial flexibility (since my initial deposit, Taycan went up in price since model year changed, my trade-in lost 40% in value, tax incentives went away, and interest rates skyrocketed). If you're not ready for the unknown, buy used or inventory cars which you can pick up the same week, or order a Tesla - they deliver much sooner.

Very true, but from a customer point of view:
Tesla - delivery in 1 month or less (at least for me, according to their order page)
Porsche - delivery in 1-4 years, unless you get lucky or are willing to spend time finding your own allocation (I remember a day when Porsche dealers would trade allocations, so the job of finding one for you fell onto your SA).

I put a lot of work cold calling dealers for over a year, yielding me "only" 20 months from deposit to delivery. Had I stuck with my local dealer waitlist, something tells me, I would not have a Taycan today. Actually, I gave myself 2 years for the Taycan - had I not stumbled upon an allocation, I would have gone with the Lucid Sapphire (had an opportunity to order one via some connections I have). In the end I'm glad I got the Taycan, but even my patience is limited - life is too short to wait so long for cars.

So my SA reckons my car is arriving at the dealer this week. The build pics are dated 13th April so it seems all too quick...I suspect when he says "Fingers crossed it should be this week" it will actually be a few more weeks.

How do you find the date stamp on the build pictures? Mine arrived at Sheerness 13th May and to the dealers 1st June, absolutely no idea when it was built though.

I downloaded the pics, then right-click and on my Mac it was "get info" - on a windows PC it was Properties. In there somewhere it showed some meta data that showed the pics having been created on 13th April, which was over a week before they appeared online for me

I found that not all the pictures have meta data, the one leaving the paint shop doesn't, but the one from this angle does. Two weeks elapsed between picture taken and being published.

Same here my car is sitting at Edmen since May 4th as per TYD , another car was built after mine and been arrived to Edmen after mine by 10 days got on the vessel and on its way to Houston.
The SA “assuming” my car is on the same ship and maybe there is a delay in TYD to update… completely BS from Porsche!

I was just updated today that my Taycan has arrived at Edmen on June 2nd. Great news. My destination is Houston as well....perhaps we will be on the same ship..but Im hoping that you are ahead of me!

I can see some vessels are expected to be heading to Emden as the attached schedule and i see SFL Composer is there so hopefully our cars make it on this one

Wow, now I am really getting excited. Thank you for sharing this schedule. I hope Kaa gets on the SFL Composer!

But, I bet that I missed the SFL Composer...my port arrival day was the second, and I see that the Composer is departing today....no way Kaa made that boat. Good news is, the Siem Cicero leaves on the 12th of June for a Houston arrival date of July 2nd. Im betting that I am on the Cicero and you are on the Composer.

Hopefully both of us will make it but i missed the sunshine ace which left on May 26th and picked another cars were built after mine so really I don’t understand how it works and based on what they set the criteria but it’s really frustrating

I guess I will start a July Delivery thread…. TYD updated today showing 7/24/23 delivery. Initial date was 5/24 then 6/10 now July which will probably be August before I received keys… if I’m lucky.

Car has been at Emden since 5/4/23. I as well as others am working on my patience.
