I have a second generation mobile charger plus (2022) which somehow has been disconnected from my home WiFi and I can’t seem to figure Out how to reconnect it back again. The Porsche manual states that it’s done through the my Porsche site (or in their terms Web application?) but I haven’t had any luck in finding this link. Has anyone else figured this out? Would appreciate any insight you might have…..thanks

PMC+ does not have the WiFI option only the PMCC does.

You can however connect your PMC+ to a PLC adapter and use your mains circuit to connect another PLC adapter close to your router.

So: PMC+ connected via an ethernet cable to PLC plug 1 --> PLC plug 2 (now sync) via an ethernet cable to your router.

Once on your network, discover the IP address and browse to it - bypass any security certificate issues - login screen will be provided for which you will need the userid and password provided in the white envelope which came with your PMC+.

The web application referred to resides on the PMC+ (it has its own in-built web server for local access) and is not related to My Porsche web site or any other.

@W1NGE is 100% correct - no WiFi support for PMC+…if the PMC+ supports networking it's only via PLC adapters - but honestly I have no idea why you'd need to do that in the North American market - and what the PMC+ is even capable of when it is networked via PLC…

this is not a thing in North America - the networking support for EVSE control in conjunction with Porsche's Home Energy Manager (HEM) - HEM is not sold/supported for North American residential use.

the _ONLY_ potential reason for PMC+ networking would be _IF_ it supports uploading charging stats to the my.porsche.com charging service portal (PMCC does this via WiFi) - but I have no personal experience w/PMC+ and PLC - so I can not speak to if this works or will work.

I personally have not been able to get my PMCC to function w/PLC adapter, I spent a day or two fussing with it - but was unable to get it functional - so I gave up as WiFi was functional.

I am no longer pursuing any configuration/setup for any Porsche EVSE because of their issues.

I'll humbly suggest what ever level of "networking" you can get working with a PMC+ it's not worth the effort/cost and there is no performance advantages, the best you can hope to achieve is some minimal statistics (status) - nothing functional is gained for the North American EVSE market.

I wouldn't worry about it - what are you hoping to achieve?

I think the PLC challenge is the IP address assignment 10.x.x.x rather than what might be on your router - 192.168.x.x (or whatever) - but WiFi is simpler.

OP may have the PMCC if it was previously on WiFi rather than the PMC+.

Understand the shortcomings and appreciate the information. I find it odd that my 2021 PCC was Wi-Fi enabled yet the dealer asked for it when I traded in my 2021 Taycan. They told me that the two units were not interchangeable within different model years… seems like a step backwards in technology and ease of operation?

@AndiL would you care to weigh in on what PMC+ networking "accomplishes" in terms of added functionality?

Just received a notice of a software update. That’s it.
there is an OTA update for the PMCC - there is no software update that I'm aware of for PMC+

more dealer BS - EVSE's are always interchangeable for charging vehicles - OMG dealers are just soooo bad - but yeah they probably wanted the original EVSE that came with the vehicle since it's listed on the build sheet.

they are functionally interchangeable (ie. both can charge an EV) but the EVSE that was sold originally with your vehicle and listed on it's factory build sheet is what they wanted back…

they are functionally interchangeable - but porsche has two levels of EVSE - the PMC+ and the PMCC - they were simply "matching" the EVSE to the vehicle "as it was originally sold" - not because one wouldn't work to charge your car.

Nada

HEM management and limiting current all of which you can do with the buttons (apparently)

No data / stats uploaded to my knowledge but I may be wrong

accoring to @W1NGE there is no advantage/functionality for PMC+ w/PLC for the North American region - and given their posting history (and historical accurancy) that puts this issue to bed.

there is nothing to be gained by hooking up a PMC+ to your home network via PLC…in North America.

thank you @W1NGE for the information - I was always curious, but thought PMC+ didn't do much.

There is no real user benefit connecting the PLC+ to the network for most users. So nothing to worry about.
