Heated steering wheel on a GTS

New GTS. Watched a YouTube video of Taycan Easter eggs. The heated wheel was one of them.

lo and behold my car has it. It wasn’t on the spec sheet.

It’s standard on the UK GTS so doesn’t appear on the spec sheet as an ‘extra’
If you trawl through the pages of Standard Specification you would find it

So true. ACC is is a $2k option on a $113k 4S, but it’s standard on my $33k GTI. As is the heated steering wheel…

Being able to choose the wheel rear steering or burgundy belts over the ACC is what makes Porsche so special. There is no fully loaded Porsche : there are configurations. No, we get it. We pay it because Porsche’s core competency, which is an incomparable driving experience, is such a valuable asset that we’re willing to pay ridiculous prices for the fully optioned product.

Do you honestly believe that there’s value to the flexibility of not speccing a heated steering wheel? That there are people who would rather not have that? It’s simply a matter of extracting maximum value from customers because they can.

Porsche bends their customers over and fucks them in the ass. We take it because the driving experience is so exceptional.

Back 30y ago Mercedes was the same. Now, certainly in the uk, many options are bundled in packs. I’ve often thought it’s probably cheaper to have everything there rather than have to build cars with such bespoke capability. Presumably this is especially true of software options. Each to their own

You can spec $200K Taycan and still have to pay extra for the heated steering wheel.

Not in the US. Basest Taycan is $91K.
My point was that even top trim $200K Porsche doesn’t necessarily come with heated steering wheel. The fact that the base trim doesn’t is not as surprising.

Mine’s fully loaded. At least in my head, it’s fully loaded. Just perfect configuration. ?

Pretty sure it was an option when I ordered last year but I discovered the heated steering wheel this morning ? I also got Comfort Access which I didn't order and it's not the trial version.
