my next Taycan was going to be a CT/ST if I got one - this saddens me and I"m not sure what I believe - but it makes moving to a Macan EV a fairly easy decision if true - not to mention my tricked out build of a Macan EV Turbo is about $70k less than my Taycan CT Turbo build…

will be interesting to see if this pans out…the Macan is a strong product, and prosche has addresses some EV limitations that they may be "stuck" with on the Taycan architecture - near/dear to my heart are better 400V charging support (split bank charging) and they finally seem to understand they have an 11 kW onboard AC charger…

I'm very very interested to see the "improvements' in the new Taycan even though I am unlikely to be a customer vs. the Macan EV…

I would be very sad if this were the case. I hope it’s not. When I read a recent press release from Porsche it said they were conducting tests on all variants for the refresh so I don’t think the CT and ST will be completely killed, but who knows for the NA market.

Does anyone know if the Panamera ST was completely killed in the update or is it still available in the European market? That may preview what’s to come.

I assumed the new Panamera is devoid of ST variants as it's just been introduced; the wagon usually trailed the sedan.

Quoting several motoring news sites late 2023, referring to the Panamera-
The disclosure was made by a Porsche spokesperson in an interview with Automotive News Europe: "In China and the U.S. – our main markets in the D segment – the Sport Turismo plays only a minor role. For this reason, we have decided to discontinue this model variant with the launch of the new generation."

Quote from Porsche to a European journalist is that, yes, Panny ST is dead.

https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a45953682/porsche-panamera-sport-turismo-wagon-dead/

That is such typical salesman (lack of) knowledge in the original post. In fact there has already been MY25 Sport and Cross Turismos in the US!
Porsche Taycan [DEBUNKED]: Taycan Cross Turismo to be discontinued in US soon 1706811890180

https://www.stuttcars.com/death-valley-to-the-artic-circle/

Although, that doesn't mean they'll be available in the US necessarily. But I've heard for years that the Pana ST hasn't sold well in the US, long before the Taycan existed, so it seems the availability of the Taycan CT/ST isn't tied to the popularity of Panamera ST.

Technically every car bought by a dealer is "made to order" but I believe you meant were "customer orders".
Thank you, you are (technically) correct; I am aware of the difference, and I actually meant that Porsche will make exactly (or, rather, at most) as many wagons as PCNA orders - as dealer inventory or customer cars. I would get the hesitation to recertify a new model in a body style that doesn't sell well, but then again I would not expect recertification to be necessary for a mid-cycle refresh.

But contrary to what your west coast greedy dealers may be telling you, that is no longer the case. Dealerships who decide to fully consume their allocations have been ordering them for stock, just like the pre-COVID days and have been for months. In some cases most dealer orders has been for stock for the last 6 months as the market has dried up.

My dealer has 20 Taycan's sitting in their back lot that were not customer orders and 5 that were customer orders that cancelled. With the MASSIVE discounting all other EV manufacturers are doing, INCLUDING Audi there is virtually no interest in a $100K+ single motor, RWD "entry level" EV sedan much less $150K+ maxed out higher performance models when you can drive down the street and pickup an Etron for $30K discount or a Tesla Model S Plaid for less than an entry level Taycan RWD. According to my SA the market has dropped out from underneath the Taycan and resale is in the tank. Luckily I have no intention of selling mine for years to come because if I did I would stand to lose my shirt.
:(
When I first set out to get mine, the local dealer had a 1.5 yr waiting queue; base CT had their own allocation stream, whereas 4S and higher trims combined the queue for both body styles. It's unfortunate that the unclogging of deliveries coincided with the crash of the market. Perhaps unsurprisingly, though, and I'd be really mad if the model is discontinued because a bunch of greedy dealers lost their shirts.

But back to the OP's comments, I’d be perfectly fine if they stopped importing the CT/ST Taycan's once the Macan EV hits the dealers. It only makes mine more rare and potential able to hold it's value but I don't really expect that to happen.
I wouldn't want to see this discontinued. I ended up in an (ICE) Macan because there was no wagon - or at least the Panamera ST was not around. The Taycan is exactly the car I'd wanted, and it's really disappointing to hear it may not have a successor. I don't intend to sell mine, either, but I'm less bothered about keeping resale value than I am about not having a potential replacement - when the time comes.

Alright, I just emailed the GM at my dealership and he said discontinuation of the CT/ST versions would be news to him. All the communications he’s been receiving indicate the CT/ST will continue in production. He did confirm what you guys were saying about the Panamera ST.

Anyway, that’s good enough for me to continue holding onto hope, which I’ve had to do a lot of in my life as a European wagon guy. I’m extremely happy with my CT4 and how useful it’s been for my family. Excited to re-up in the future if the refresh comes with significant improvements.

This forum stresses me out sometimes ?. I do love all of you though.

Maybe not so surprising after all. Wagons are disappearing from the lineups of other manufacturers - BMW gone, for MB the current is the last one, and we’re slowly being funneled into Volvos.. ?
Yet Audi are poised to launch the A6 EV.

Had the ST appeared before the CT then sales of CT would be lower still.

Personally I see no need for the CT and detest the Audi Allroad cladding that adornes it.

ST is my daily through all weathers and is particularly fantastic in snow when 5 - 7" covers the road.

De gustibus..

A bit of plastic cladding doesn't offend me in the least. Stepping down from the Macan to the ST would have been more stressful for me for the rare eventuality I needed the full ground clearance. Given that the difference between CT and ST is really bolt-on parts and software settings, I don't see a reason to object to either's existence.
