Here's a question that I don't think has been addressed on here. The Taycan is being listed as the Taycan II on the website, so have they skipped the concept of a facelift and this is just considered the second generation? It's irrelevant I guess other than how long the next update might be
Taycan 1 is J1 I
Taycan 2 is J1 II

Could be just them refering to the new updated j1 platform.
Also, it's not everywhere. In switzerland we only get the new taycans, the old ones are gone from the website

I think this is technically a second generation vehicle (JII vs JI), not a Facelift but they've dressed it up as a Facelift. What do others think? The press release has very different language depending on where you look

After waxing lyrical to friends 7 family about how you don't NEED more range because the limiting factor is your bladder...now the facelift has more range I feel short changed :)

Given the huge advancements in this first facelift I'm excited to see the next upgrade which might coincide with time to replace my current car
Does spending a load of cash to pretty much buy the same car makes you happy? I would never understand people likemy uncle. He would just buy a new camry to replace his old camry. If i spend money at that level, i would go for a 911. For something cheaper, i would go for the EX30. Wish can able to get a cheap Chinese made ones just for the heck of it.

Not really but I change my iPhone every few years for pretty much the same functionality. I know that's £1k rather than 100...

I've just configured my exact spec and it's a few thousand more than I paid in June 2023. The more I read, the more the real-world extra range seems to be about 50 miles on the 4S so on that basis I would retract my previous statement...if it was 100 miles then maybe.

This is what Porsche does. When they refreshes 911 from gen 1 into gen 2, the base model will have almost as much power as the S models. I’m sure that felt good for 911 owners.

on the forums you’ll see people most commonly cross shop between S model of an earlier gen 911 with the base model of a more recent gen.

To be honest. The update is just noise to current owners. What we really need is more charging infrastructure. My current CT has about same range as my S2000. And i never thought that the S2000 needed better fuel economy.

The worst financial decision I ever made was having kids, not sure this car even makes the top 10. With that said, I don't regret either. As long as you make more good financial decisions than bad in the end, you'll be ok.
probably my favourite post in this thread...!!

Is anyone else a bit confused about the new CarPlay functionality? They seem to be referring to it as CarPlay+, but that's not a branding that I've seen Apple use anywhere. At the same time if you look at the PDF that was posted earlier, they appear to mostly be talking about the Porsche CarPlay app, which of course is nothing like next gen CarPlay and is something we already have in the current cars.

As I understand it, it's been more or less confirmed that some Porsche model(s) will get next gen CarPlay this year, so one would assume that the new Taycan would be it, but I find it strange in that case that they are presenting it like this.

I'm not that surprised: Taycan extended integration in Carplay has been released very recently in our cars so the Porsche Marketing Department still thinks they can associate it (Carplay+) as new feature of the new Taycan. Don't look any further: what we got as Carplay integration is the same as the new Taycan has.
I still think our Taycan may receive further marginal improvements in the PCM in the future, like this one...

The US configurator no longer shows PMCC as an option. Maybe they finally gave up trying.

Interesting point. All of the models have the power opening port on them now too
In the pictures, the rear bumper vents on a Turbo look to be non-functional, so perhaps the new Taycan just went all fake vents just for looks..
