I don’t value the range enough along with Incremental improvements over the exotic style of the generation 1. In my opinion the further the styling migrates from the original mission e, these Gen 1 values might just flip 10+ years from now , the styling is just so fantastic, people might just lust after the gen 1. I can see myself holding this long term, if depreciation ever gets super ridiculous, id just keep it as part of the stable as first porsche I ever bought new. The reality is, the car is an engineering marvel, shitty range or not , the gen 1 styling will never get old.

I am not planning another Porsche. But the excellent team at Downtown Toronto makes me just want to deposit for a Targa 911. But probably should wait till i pay off the CT.

I’m on list in states for Targa , I’m supposedly next. Seems like demand is falling a bit

yeah. thats what my advisor told me when i asked about lining up for a T. But i changed my mind. i think that i will take the Targa open top and pick a nice color in/out. But i can change mind again when Boxter EV comes out.

I've bought two Taycans.

I've lost quite a bit of money on the second one. Both took damage to the panoramic roof, the latter severe enough I have to replace it.

I'm done with the Taycan. Waiting for the E-Boxster.

EDIT: To be clear the roof and depreciation are separate issues. I don't want a glass roof any more, too fragile, and I don't want a third Taycan because the market has absolutely tanked for the existing ones.

I agree but feel slightly different; I think, because this car was built on its own bespoke platform, the 1 and 1.2 models will be sought after collectively. Especially since the next gen Taycan will share the same platform with the Panamera EV.

Or just wait a couple years for the next 911…which I hear will be very retro–futuristic.

Or, just wait for that soft-top Taycan coupe [2027] ?

Guys, let's be realistic. Forget about style, bespoke platform, whatever. Porsche has sold more than 123,000 pre-lift 1st gen Taycans globally (source), and any car of that amount won't become collectables. You can think of yours as the best car ever made and that's fine, but don't expect its market value to increase over time.

As a .1 owner, I was fairly happy with the 2025 updtate. The range and efficiency improvements were incremental, but not game changing. The acceleration, of the CT4 was already fantastic. Beyond that, the style seems to diverge from Mission E and the aggressiveness of the .1 cars. Oh, and the price increases are making a very expensive car even more expensive.

I’m good. If anything, I’m even happier with version .1, it’s not too far off the new hotness…

don't tempt me. My future self will come back and kick me in the ass for wasting so much money. On the other hand, i already have made peace with myself and imagine that my next car would be BYD Seagull if it ever get sold in Canada. I bet that if i get one, it will be like a vacation to China everytime i drive it.

I can see the $12.5K option on the horizon “Taycan heritage design package. Includes heritage design front lip with heritage design Mission E wheels”. Small footnote: heritage design package results in 17 miles of lower range ?

Are we talking hail damage to the roof or something else?
