Agree 100%.I'd prefer it if Porsche gave absolute flexibility of what to put in which tube. Trip info in the left, media middle, information right, sport chrono HUD....why not! Nav left, tyre pressures middle, driving assist right, power meter HUD....sure!
- Left - tyre pressures (because there are no other options that are more useful)
- Centre - map (ditto the above). Occasionally the Powermeter (more intrigue about what power was available at low charge)
- Right - combination of media/trip/information
- HUD - directions, driving assist and speed/signs (only really use it on longer runs...can be distracting on country lanes)
The amusing thing is, IMO, that once you've decided to allow 4 options in one, 3 in another, 7 in another etc etc... It's actually harder to manage than just allowing freedom.Agree 100%.
Having such limited options on what should be a completely customisable display is not ideal.
However, from what I've experienced this is similar on all VAG products.
Each brand / model has its own twist on data, so the code has been written to allow for for so much more configuration.
A missed opportunity.
