I had my Taycan go through and pass its MOT today at a Porsche Centre.

I got home, tried to charge the car, but couldn’t. Both charging ports are off (no lights at all) and the charge cable isn’t clicking in. Centre console says “charging not possible”.

I’ll wait until the morning before calling Porsche breakdown but I’ve contacted the Porsche Centre.

Anyone else had this? It’s my first issue with the car in almost 3 years (besides the heater issue).

I've had the red "charging not possible" one day, a couple hours later the car charged just fine and never seen the error again since.

Maybe lock the car, put the key far away from the car and let it sit for a while.

Tried this but no joy. I see the centre console says “charging system not connected”.

My Trashcan has this problem. Not always, but it happens 3/10 times I attempt to charge the car. Dealer said I have to wait until it's fails completely.

That’s the annoying. Has it always been like that for you? Why does it need to fail completely before they will replace it?

It's been happening almost my entire time of ownership. I had not seen my car as it's been in the shop for 2 months now so I have no idea what's going on with the car. Dealer said that until it throws a code they can read, they don't know what to do. I just have to wait till it fails completely and they will replace it then.

If the issue happens 30% of the time, then surely they can reproduce it? Hopefully they can fix it for you soon.

I just dropped off my Taycan CT4S at the dealer for a similar problem. Left side AC charger only gives a solid red light every time. Cleared codes a few times but still not able to charge on that side. This was preceded by various "charging impaired" errors and both doors refusing to open but the dealer was able to clear codes and get it back working a week ago. Now I'm back to current charging issue on the left side. 5k miles / 6 months old. One of my favorite cars I've owned but also the least reliable. Dealership always pretends they've never heard of any Taycan charging issues.

To be fair, I haven’t had any charging issues until yesterday in almost 3 years of ownership, but I do get the frustration suffered by those that have. New platform, new problems especially for us Gen 1 owners.

Both charging port lights are still off, and the “charging system is not connected”. I don’t think the issue is the ports, but something more fundamental.

Breakdown truck arrived today, to tell me that the car needs to go to the dealership for repair. Good thing I have battery charge left to do the trip.

Make sure you take a picture each time this happens. Six months total in the dealership for this and the battery over the past year and so far still not fixed. Hoping this latest stint does it.

Losing access to my car for an extended period is my biggest fear. Dealerships are not equipped to store service vehicles for long periods and often let them sit in offsite outdoor parking lots while they await parts and instruction.

Also, on the brake line recall - was told today by the dealer that parts and repair procedure are not available yet. Defies common sense that they release the recall without this stuff ready.

Question. Given I have had similar issues. Been to centre 5 or 6 times. They just won’t replace anything as they say it’s fine. Why are Porsche so inept at diagnosis? They really are not set up for the ev world or could not care less!
