I emailed the dealership this morning asking them to put the car back together and to provide any diagnostic information with regards to the coolant lines, I'm not holding my breath on the latter

@Maelstrom I just contacted my local service center and requested a quote for full battery replacement using my VIN.

I have a 4S with PB+

Total cost P+L: $50-$60k

They wanted to see the car before giving the final quote, and couldn’t give an exact price for labor or additional parts that may be one-time use.

It takes 25hrs to drop a battery from a Taycan and put a new one back in?:surprised:
Or is this just how dealers figured out they can bill this, by stringing together different diagnostics, programming, coding and whatever other tasks they figured out might be related. When we had to do a the battery leak test, I thought they had to drop a battery, replace some valves on it, do a pressure test, put it back in - that wasn't 25hrs of labor billed to Porsche, was it?

As a point of reference, IIRC old Model S it took 4-6hrs, which included draining the cooling system, refilling it, reprogramming, testing, etc. With the right equipment it took only 20 minutes, but Tesla only ever built one of those battery swap stations.

And NIO can swap a battery in 5 mins!

Note to self...take Taycan to independent body shop to have any dents removed from the skidpan before taking to Porsche for service.
This is all a total rip off! Find a body shop to check it out.

Battery prices in China are down to USD 75 per kWh. In China most BEV are now cheaper than their ICE equivalent!

So what you gonna do about it?
Nothing yet, still need to think how to play my cards. I did bottom out 2 years ago, and did have multiple recalls and services in the mean time without any notice from the dealer about a dent. Have my extended warranty check in 4 months, curious what will pop up
