This kind of bullshit is why the car has tanked so hard on the secondary market.

16K for roof glass, 11K for underbody, the car is a ticking financial time bomb.

These repair costs are way, WAY out of bounds (even for Porsche) making them more expensive to insure and financially risky to own.
These phantasy prices are there to make you extend the warrenty until you unload.

My recommendation to you: Unload immediately and bay T junk, at least you get reliable quality and excellent service!

Got the news I was dreading this morning - there is damage to the battery tray and a pressure mark on the battery (waiting for that picture). Price to repair is $68k (and change).
What I find perplexing is this...if I hadn't have taken my car in for warranty work then I would've been driving around until my next service (due in 16k miles), there's no warning lights and/or errors being thrown by the car, can't get my head around that for some reason.
If the car drives ok, why spend money on this? Warrenty is out, too, I guess. These prices are all phantasy prices... Fix it in a few years...

Other than this huge design flaw. Porsche really needs to fix their service pricing for the Taycan. In no way should dropping the protective shield cost $6,000 for just an inspection.
NIO does battery swapping without technician in just 5 min for $0! :whew:

There is indeed so much garbage when dealing with Porsche dealership. Not pleasant, particularly when you see rip off prices like this.

I am so distressed reading the post; it is just wrong. I’m sorry OP. an over engineered vehicle is not a well-engineered one, and clearly Porsche is a brand to avoid for me. I can’t stomach the fact that their repair costs are shamelessly so high.
They might start selling Porsches for $999 and then kill you with those crazy repair cost.
Just a sales tactic for the extended warrenty scheme?

I'm doing that today - I have a friend in from out of town so am a little distracted.
To complete the loaner scenario - they told me Friday afternoon that if they didn't have the car back by 3pm on Saturday then they would be charging me $150/day

So weird that they went hostile on the loaner like that. I wouldn’t want to deal with them at all.

It is really strange. Once I did have a new Macan as a loaner and they sold it so traded me loaner cars as my car wasn’t ready. To date never been asked to pay for a loaner. And there hasn’t been any urgency to get it back.
