Tesla owner and in the market to switch to Taycan. Dealer showed me a new Taycan 2023 for 100k with MSRP of 125k. Any catch that I am missing.

Send a picture of a list of options. Which model is it? The base/RWD model was no faster than my 2013 Tesla Model S. Getting a 4S or faster with a decent number of options is money well spent. Taycan is a much better/nicer car compared to a Model S, IMO.

option package looks great. The 150kw/400v allows it to be charged on Tesla v3 chargers. I think pricing can be better, should be in the $80s.

Could you tell me a little more. I was thinking 25% discount is already too much. I understand the 2 yr gap with the 2025 release. Could you arm me with some advice to negotiate. Note that car is new!

On the internet, you will almost certainly be told that there is a better deal to be had out there.

Early in my career, people would tell my old boss that he could find a better deal for things we bought at work. He would always respond “Ok yeah sure….and pork chops are 10 cents a pound. Go find some.”

Take this deal at face value. It’s only a bad deal if you can actually find a better one. Good luck ?

This is a very well spec'd example, may be overly so with the $1,120 Mobile Charger Connect. I think the catch is that it is a base RWD that has its benefits in lighter weight and handling, but it is not fast. The good news is that it has ACC so you can add ALK and InnoDrive as a FOD with free trial to get more assistance features than just plain ACC. As far as price goes, I would go try to compare it to the 2023 CPO examples with similar options to see if you can negotiate more and leverage, as you mentioned, that new 2025 models are getting delivered now.

The option list looks quite extensive. Did you ask if that's a demo unit?

Some testers disagree, the base can be more fun in the twisties (SmokingTire, NickMurray, Autogefühl... Carfection mentions how the steering feel is much improved without the front motor). Depends on one's use.

Yes that is the case — they do use it for demos. And are likely going to move to 2024/25 model. That’s why the discount. Any pitfalls you see with that.

Well, people test-driving it might have taken less care of it than an owner would... But that's not that dramatic on an EV, as there's no need to wait for oil to warm up or to break-in a petrol engine for a few thousand miles.
That would definitely not stop me. I would compare that demo car with what's available on the (barely-) used market, both are interesting in bang for bucks.

I might be misunderstanding here but if it’s been used for demos, it’s not new. It’s used. How many miles does it have?

As a ‘Used’ vehicle, the % discount doesn’t seem generous on the face of it.

I think I'm misunderstood and misread the situation. This is a new car, meaning never titled nor warranty punched? $80k are for pre-owned.

If it's previously been titled, then $80k range should be where this car is valued. Simply search on Porsche website for similar vehicles will yield listings in the price range.

Now if this car has never been titled, but warranty punched, then it's a common practice for dealers. These cars were either 1. Courtesy cars driven by Porsche executives/dealership executives, owned and maintained by Porsche North America/dealership or 2. Cars unsold, and the dealership punches the warranty which allows them to indicate the car is "sold" to free up an allocation slot for another car.

These cars will be listed as CPO and will have higher pricing bc they are still eligible for leasing with current incentives. I think these cars should be priced at current MSRP discounts, I don't track what others have been receiving on RWD, but higher MSRP cars (4S, Turbo, GTS) are significant, around 20% iirc
