Just had an email from OVO saying they're updating their T&Cs:

These changes won’t affect the way Charge Anytime works. Instead, they’ll include more information on how we optimise your vehicle's charging to help balance supply and demand across the grid, and how we use your charging data.

I decided to click in to the small print and noticed that the rate after 15th October is shown as 10p/kWh (up from 7p) - a sneaky 43% increase.

That's very very sneaky given this wording in the body of the email:

Porsche Taycan OVO Charge Anytime price increase 1727364712973-ya

Yeh I thought so - usually I'd never bother reading small print but it feels very disingenuous to huge a 43% price increase in small print and make out the changes are something else

I'm not eligible for this service since I have solar cells but agree that is very sneaky - pretty well dishonest.
I have a normal domestic OVO tariff, maybe I should change.

They support solar now - I have solar and battery storage and there's now a slider option that says "I have solar". I'm then on OVO's standard variable tariff. Worth looking in to as it means a huge saving vs the standard kWh rate. We now have 2 EVs and use Charge Anytime for both, opting to charge overnight at the CA rate and save any excess solar for export which is at a higher rate (11p export, 7p CA currently)

They don't support FIT solar when I last checked. They do support the Andersen charge station but not one as old as mine. I get 61p payback on solar though.

Ahh excellent, 61p FIT is brilliant vs my 11p export tariff

retraction, but i guess we know what's coming!:

We’re sorry, there was a mistake in the terms and conditions (T&Cs) we recently sent you for Charge Anytime. It said your Charge Anytime rate was 10p per kWh, but your actual rate is 7p per kWh.
To confirm, you’ll continue to pay 7p per kWh for smart charging with Charge Anytime.

Just received that too - sounds like maybe the 10p was too early like you suggest but that’s good news for now

I received the retraction also.

I asked about the apparent increase this morning in the OVO Forum, and they posted a retraction a couple of hours later. The charge used to be 10p/kWh before they lowered it last year, so hopefully, it’s just an old copy that they edited and sent out.
