It is a tricky one, can you not find a MY23/24 4S at 90.000? :)

If it had to be absolutely between these, I think I would lean towards the newer RWD

That facelift model will be under 70k in 6months… Plus it is more difficult to sell a RWD. Aaand it is much slower than the 4S. I would get the preface if you are ok with the range.

I bought one last week. Told them to throw in a free 1y warranty and a set of winter tires and they were “deal” right away.

Am not sure either looks like the best of deals in the current market tbh.

I just had use of a MY25 CT4 and it felt slow. Wouldn't be my choice.

My 2023 ST Turbo S, (12,000 miles) which is exactly one year old has lost £2,000 per WEEK.
Unless money is no object and you need the range, go for pre-facelift and take advantage of the MASSIVE depreciation.

I say that both are not ideal. I would recommend spending time looking for more pre-facelift examples that are well equipped 4S or above given massive depreciation that should still fit into the budget that you are looking to spend. General understanding is that the market is flooded with low miles and massively depreciated examples just about everywhere.

100% facelift. Older Taycans are riddled with problems. Get the best car you can afford.

I'd go for the 4s.

Already had most of its depreciation

Faster

I like the colour better (but that is a personal choice)

What massive problems have you had? Pre-facelift problems are well understood and can be fixed through recalls. Facelift has a few new components that have not been tested at scale.

I haven't had any, I'm in the final stages of making a decision which 2025 to buy. I'm going with the 2025 mainly due to the 2020-2024MY issue with the underbody cover and the stories of how a little rock jumping off the road caused a battery damage. This scares me the most, but of course all the issues with the 12v battery, breaks, quirks with the software etc. are not encouraging neither. All in all, to me, saving $20-30k (compared to '23/'24) is not worth the risk and trouble. I have a few dealerships offering 7% off msrp for the cash payment, which takes care of a little bit of the 1st year depreciation, and seems like a pretty good deal to me.

Now, you're raising a good point that 2025 could also be riddled with issues that haven't been revealed yet. I'm OK with that risk. I think Porsche had a solid few years to figure out the most obvious issues.

If you are OK with the performance I would go with the facelift one. I would really value the technical improvements and longer range of the new model.

Had the pre facelift been newer I might have gone for that but in my mind there is a massive difference between a one there is a few months old vs. 3 years.

I would be interested to learn what you consider "massive" differences. The differences address specific shortcomings in the pre-facelift models that matter to some but not majority of current owners, so if that matters more than deeply discounted pre-facelift examples, then going with a facelift model makes sense. I have complete data set of the differences for the facelift from Porsche launch materials, so happy to discuss and support with data anything of interest.

Pre face lift no question unless money is of no concern to you.
