suspension was sublime - and the car has elevated the already planted feel of gen1 Taycan - everything was "better" - turn in, acceleration, ride quality, and then the nice touches - more refined dash board presentation (more EV focused)…Great write up. Do you think the biggest difference in the Gen2 feeling more refined is the new 2 chamber suspension? Of course the PAR makes a huge difference, but even without it activated
It is the shape of the torque curve that is important in a vehicle, not the peak. Particularly in an IC engined vehicle where the torque curve is by the nature of how IC engines work, pretty dreadful.Thought these were interesting values, and on the road I value torque over HP;
Taycan Turbo: Max. torque with Launch Control 656 lb-ft
Taycan Turbo S: Max. torque with Launch Control 818 lb-ft
Macan Turbo: Max. torque with Launch Control 833 lb-ft
Taycan Turbo GT: Max. torque with Launch Control 914 lb-ft
That’s the point. I had X5 g05 before Taycan, hated how it handled. Got Taycan and have fallen in love. Decided to give a try to Macan Turbo as reviewers claimed is so superior and handles as good as Taycan does. Oh my god, do they listen to themselves? A miracle didn’t happen. I did drive it yesterday and it was ok.. definitely better than X5, but not near Taycan. It’s quicker on straight line than my 4S (though I plan to take Taycan turbo next), but cornering is not that good. Macan doesn’t handle corners that good as Taycan does. It even felt scary sometimes. If you want handling, take Taycan, if you want more handling, take 911. Macan is nice, but not for that. I like Taycan for it like a carting car feel.I'm still too young for a SUV![]()
