As expected, I got my ARB7 recall letter from Porsche today (possible bad battery cell). I was surprised that they did not recommend battery charging mods to max at 80%......Anyway, 2 of my recalls will be addressed at the end of December (hopefully) ...so in the new year I MAY be down to ONE recall!

Have to say that a charge to 80% only would result in a not fit for purpose stance from me. I bought this car for a) performance b) ride and handling c) range - all as advertised. Step away from that and .................................... well. Talk to me Porsche. Especially as a serial purchaser.........................

I only got the letter stating ARB6, so maybe the early models of the Taycan could not report anything OTA? I guess that is why there is the recommendation to only charge to more than 80%for safety reasons?

’Maybe you have a newer model? In my car, MY 20, I have no remote control more than starting the heating in the car. No locking or unlocking, no horn , no light flash etc.

.
My understanding is that, from at least MY21, subject to having a Connect contract and Privacy Mode not being switched on by the user in PCM, remote connectivity is possible.
Earlier recalls for the same issue were ARA4 (OTA log available, issue confirmed) and ARA5 (no OTA available, dealer extract necessary to confirm). The 80% charge limit applied to both types. My MY21 was ARA4. I assumed therefore that the number of faulty modules would be known at the time of booking, but the dealer still had to extract logs and send them to Germany for review before parts could be ordered.

Maybe update your app?

If you disable privacy mode in PCM & app, they will be able to gather data.

With a MY20 model also, they informed me of new recalls

Charging to 80% is a recommendation, not enforceable at the moment.

I am confused why I got ARB7 if I have privacy mode off, allowing them to monitor my battery remotely.

ARB7 is for cars for which Porsche has OTA vehicle data.
My car also got ARB7. Letter arrived a couple days ago. I never consented to share vehicle data on MyPorsche. When I connect to MyPorsche on web, I am prompted to consent to data sharing.
My guess is that if the data sharing options are checked in PCM, whether I consented on MyPorsche has no effect.
Either that, or Porsche does not have my vehicle data and the car should be in ARB6.

My experience was that whether OTA analysis had occurred makes no difference. The dealer still had to extract up to date logs and have them analysed by Germany before parts could be ordered. There could be many months between remote analysis and the dealer starting work. Makes sense that the work is based on up to date information.

Improved monitoring s/w installation is mentioned. That may help accuracy/improve turnaround.

I wonder, is this a recall the stealerships are equipped to perform, right away?

it doesn‘t appear to require any physical parts to wait on, unless the analysis shows faults.
