I wonder, is this a recall the stealerships are equipped to perform, right away?

it doesn‘t appear to require any physical parts to wait on, unless the analysis shows faults.
My ARB7 letter says the remedy process is complex and may take more than a week to complete!!

Being cynical, I am also concerned that the remedy may actually reduce my horsepower and limit my range to shield Porsche from any (no matter how insignificant) liability.

I’ll keep checking but it still looks like I may have escaped this latest recall. HV battery was replaced October ’23.

It seems strange that Porsche ARB6/ARB7 recall would install diagnostic HV battery software on many/most Taycans produced before April 3, 2024 but not all of them. The software is not available until 1 QTR 2025 so it is unlikely your car has it.

I agree. That’s why I’ll definitely recheck through my dealer next visit.

Could the explanation be that a recently replaced battery has certain characteristics that mean diagnostic software is unnecessary as the battery is not prone to failure?

I got the ARB7 letter as well, mine was built in august 2020. Of course my car is at the dealer already for arb5... I wonder if ARB7 will apply after that is complete..

in Germany currently a lot of owners get a 2 page letter for a recall named WRS0 that deals with battery monitoring and avoiding potential battery shortcuts and fire which is signed by two Porsche gentlemen

Mr. X. Danger
Mr. R. Waldbrenner (which means forest burner in german)

you can't make this stuff up...

My understanding is that we are all in ARB7 forever monitoring because there is no way to guarantee if you get a few modules replaced, then others are not going to go, unless they can trace them by individual identifiers when the battery case is open. Then per ARB7 (or ARB6 that is detection during visits) if any defective modules are detected, it is automatic ARB5 which is actual module replacement. Then again you are back to ARB7 and monitoring for more, unless you get a brand new (most likely a refurb kind as we know by the identifires who got them) battery with some guarantee that all modules are high quality with no more monitoring required.

Another subliminal suggestion that we’re living in a simulation and they’re all having a laugh at our expense…

We are all screwed. I'm not sure even Porsche Germany knows what is going on with their batteries. I Received ARB7 notice in the mail a couple of days ago. Seemed to make sense as I have data sharing enabled. Dropped my car at the dealer today for A/C and suspension issues (battery seems fine and was not why I was taking it in). SA checks his system and ARB6 is open for my car. This is also the recall shown on the NHTSA website. Curious why the notification letter would show ARB7 when Porsche and NHTSA think it's ARB6. Also new, and not shown anywhere that I can find, is WRS1. It could have been WRS0 mentioned by @rs38 but I'm reasonably sure it was WRS1 (two different WRS recalls depending on the market?). Some kind of testing of the battery and producing a VAL. According to the SA I either get demoted to ARB5 if there is a problem detected or upgraded to ARB7 for the software update some time in the future. The testing, according to the SA, involves telling the mother ship the car is at the dealer and then a remote diagnosis is done. He was pretty sure the techs didn't do anything for this recall except park the car where a satellite could see it. So, at least in my case, Porsche seems to have sent out the wrong recall notice. Got ARB7, should have been ARB6. Is any ARB7 recall notice valid? Does data sharing really do nothing? Why does my car have to be at the dealership for Porsche to check remotely? When did the WRS recall come out. When will the pain end?

"So what happens if there is a problem found when running WRS1?" I asked. "Uh, hope that doesn't happen because you will be without the car for a long time. It's a mess."

So comforting. Wrong, or at least inapplicable, recall notices being sent out. New recalls on a weekly basis and apparently no way to deal with whatever batteries have a problem on a timely basis.

I wonder if you get ARB6 if you have your car in privacy mode all the time -then you take it in to your dealer, then they just take it out of privacy mode and leave it for a few days so it can ‘phone home’, like all ARB7 vehicles, then they turn privacy mode back on and give it you back! Which would mean there isn’t any difference - just one can’t phone home until a dealer lets it!
