For home charging, does anyone use the basic Porsche mobile charger connect the car comes with (plugged into 240v outlet)? Or does everyone prefer one of the many other wall mount chargers available?

if it doesn't give you any trouble use it and be happy (it's free/included so don't spend money until you know why you're spending the money) - if/when it gives you _ANY_ trouble drop it like a hot brick and don't look back and choose one of many high quality alternatives…

if it aint' broke dont' fix it…
if it is broken don't try and fix it…

Re Porsche-branded EVSEs:
Have fun figuring out whether the one you have is one of the 41,000 recalled Porsche chargers in USA, and if so, whether it is one of the 9,028 that have had the remedy to reduce the risk of fire applied to them per Recall: Power Outlet May Cause Charging Cable to Overheat (20-24) APB6 - December 13, 2023.

Or, buy a decent, non-Porsche-branded EVSE.
;)

I use mine and it works. It isn't the fastest, well I blame the car for that since won't be able to get more than 9.6kW. I have a faster Telsa wall charger for my other car that I can use but pointless since the Taycan is capped.

Whatever charger you choose (it does not have to be Porsche branded), generally hardwired is more reliable (no issues with local codes requiring GFCI outlets which can get you stranded in the morning if it trips overnight and the car therefore will not be charged), can charge faster (48A instead of 40A, or even 80A if you have a Taycan equipped with 19.2KW onboard charger), and safer, however if you choose to use a plug-in EVSE, I strongly suggest you invest in an industrial grade 240V outlet, such as a Hubbell 9540A - it is one of Porsche recommended, and generally recommended by EV community. The typical residential outlets (such as dryer or oven outlets) are not meant to sustain many hours of maximum load - they can melt (you can find examples here or on the wider internet).

I have a surprise for you. Plug your Taycan into your higher powered Tesla charger and your Taycan will charge 20% faster than on the Porsche PMC+/PMCC, possibly even 100% faster (if your Taycan has the option), assuming your Tesla charger can deliver enough juice.

All Taycans can charge at 11.5kW if you plug them into an EVSE which can provide 48A at 240V. Porsche also offered an optional 19.2kW onbaord charger for 2020-2024 cars. Porsche will even install it into any 2020-2024 Taycan if you pay them to do it - it's pricey though, the hardware is same price as if you bought it from the factory at build time, but there is a bunch of labor you have to pay for). I charge my Taycan daily at 19.2kW, using a hardwired Tesla HPWC on a 100A circuit.

I did for the first few months. Took 2 days or more for a full charge. I went for the Porsche wall charger as it’s cheaper with off peak electricity on a timer. However beware the 22kw charger needs your house to be connected to phase 3. The ‘granny’ charger is good but painful between 80-100%
there are different issues for UK/europe/north America - and different speeds - OP is north American - so will have to deal with charging speed and thermal issues endemic to the North American units…

one example: 3 phase electrical power for residential is not a thing in North America
two example: max charging speed in North America is 19.2 kW - not 22 kW

I used mine for the first 9 months I had the car with no issues. At times I wish I hadn’t had a GivEnergy charger installed on the end of the cable because the Porsche one had far less issues

I use the Porsche Mobile Charger which charges at 7kwh. I've had an industrial (Commando) socket fitted in my garage at a cost of £650 with all the correct EV cabling and separate fuse box so it's isolated from the house circuit. I use the Porsche app to control charging and I'm on an EV tariff with EON Next @ 6.7p kWh between midnight and 7am. Simple but effective.
