In Switzerland at least, this issue is more prevalent if you use providers that don't use the latest technology when it comes to their communication towers.

In my taycan, with the privacy glass insulated laminated and all that, me & my girlfriend get complete different signals, despite having identical phones.
The difference is the provider, I am on swisscom, the "innovator" in switzerland when it comes to mobile and internet technology, having the larger infrastructure while also always bringing latest technology, at a premium price; while she is with a smaller provider, with better prices, but older infrastructure. I never have signal issues, and she almost always has signal issues.

I heard that the Acoustically insulated laminated privacy glass option can impair the mobile signal on a Taycan.

I need to be able to make & receive calls so is that a fact or rumour ? Is that special glass a good option or better to avoid on a Taycan ? Thanks for your input

I’ve got it on my, never had a problem with phone signal, but my speed camera detector just will not get a signal

Can you put that next to your mirror, in the "black zone" of the windshield?
Signal should go through there.

I’ve had it in my 2021 4S and it works fine with my iPhone.

What’s more, it’s incredibly effective at maintaining a comfortable temperature inside the car. I wouldn’t be surprised if there isn’t a real boost in range because the AC doesn't have to work as hard.

Probably.
Also a pale exterior and interior colour probablt increase range by a non negligible amount too.

I have this option along with the variable light sunroof - It definitely has an impact. You will not notice it when in an area where you have a strong signal but when the signal is marginal it is the difference between being able to make call and not or use the internet or not. If you open your window and hold your phone out and it starts working again. So the impact really depends on if you will be in areas where you will have spotty coverage.

My two children sit in the backseat with their iPads and login to the cars Wi-Fi and play their video games and stream video content while driving with no issues. Maybe the car's Wi-Fi is helping my phone reception and overall performance.

If you are using the car's built in WiFi the data SIM will likely be using the car's external antenna which would get around the problem for sure.

It does inhibit the mobile signal, at least in theory, but it's rarely a problem where I live, and knowing how cell coverage works in Europe, it's probably even less of a problem there.
