My 2022 Taycan 4S - 3 years later

No issues during the third year. 24,000 miles.

Taycan spent 1 day at the dealer this past year taking care of the brake hose campaign.

Continental all season 20” tires will be replaced next month. Going with same tires. They have been fine. Essentially lasted 24,000 miles.

Just received the “monitor your battery” email. At the same time I was checking on the Porsche Connect subscription which is about to expire.

Porsche Connect Care is active for 10 years (thought it was 5 for J1, has it always been 10? Did they update? Was I not paying attention?)

I saw another thread debating if you need Porsche Connect (the one you get for free for 3 years) to have your battery monitored. Given the screenshot above I am going to choose to believe that as long as Porsche Connect Care is active we should be good.

I am going to not renew Porsche Connect for now, $319+tax feels like a bit much. I probably start pre-heat less than 10 times a year. I do check battery status more often, maybe 20 times a year? That’s $10 per use, feels brutal. We’ll see.

Still planning on keeping 6 years, maybe longer, nothing yet on the market I would rather have. Still bringing smiles to perfect strangers.

I am still very annoyed about the annual cost of Porsche Connect. They need us to give them access to monitor the car but they want us to pay a ridiculous price to monitor basic functions and have limited controls. They need to fix this right away!

I totally agree. My ‘22 GTS is my first Porsche and I just hit my 3 years a week ago. I went to see some stuff in my car through the app and found out basically all functions are gone. Porsche wants $320 a year to do basic shit on the $150,000 car. That is pretty weak in my opinion from Porsche. I don’t think you can be considered a luxury brand when you nickel and dime your customers. It feels cringy and cheap. That’s the opposite of how the car feels.

I just reached 3 year ownership 2022 CT 4S. 56000 KM. No issues with the car. In 3 years, did all the recalls. Needed new backup camera sensors and AC cooling fan seized replaced. That’s acceptable to me. My heater lasted no problem through 3 cold Canadian winters!?

I just replaced my 21 Goodyears. Getting 450km summer and 340km winter range.

I did not renew the Porsche connect so far feels like a rip off. I think I will keep this car for 8-10 years. Still today there’s no other car I would choose over mine. Still love the car. Definitely getting extended warranty before year 4. Does anyone know if we still get roadside assistance until when?

Regarding Porsche Connect: everyone has a choice whether to renew. Personally I want the features and I'm prepared to pay - remember it costs Porsche to provide these ongoing services so to expect them to be provided free is wishful thinking.

Did anyone really buy a Taycan, or indeed any Porsche, expecting it to be cheap to own and run?.....

4 year warranty in the US.

I likely will, closer to the 4 year anniversary.

Just a confirmation of your experience and conclusions. I am on year 5 and still looking for an alternative I would prefer to no avail. The Taycan continues to be reliable and a blast to drive. Porsche should try some price sensitivity testing with Connect. I too think $319 USD is ridiculous and did not renew. They could learn from Tesla where users get more for much less:

I have Conti all season since new. I haven't replaced them, will do it next month, with the same. I can let you know if i see any difference

I would appreciate that. I am a fan of all season tyres as in the UK the winters are quite mild compared to other countries.

I did not renew my porsche connect contract that came first 3 years free.

The smart inspection program on porsche center console also no longer works.

I'm booked for a quick update, which should be OTA (maybe I no longer can get OTA's because i didn't renew the rip off annual connect contract), and will confirm with them again.
