In this case (in US) will Porsche 'usually' take the car in to replace/fix the battery before the red light of death or do you have to drive it till death for them to acknowledge it?

Two options - Once you see a massive mileage drop take it in. however they may opt to fix only the blatantly faulty cells/packs - they only have to repair it to 75% original state per warranty
Other option is wait until you get the red circle. But that can happen at any time, without warning. You don't want to be driving when it does.

I'm not sure about the US... because we mostly service the over 6,000 gray import Taycans in Thailand. All of which have no warranty at Porsche.

We also have some official bought at the local Porsche dealer Taycans that would rather service and repair with us even though it is self paid, than have the local dealer to the repairs even free under warranty!

But this are very few cases... as obviously most people who buy an official local dealer Porsche will repair it for free under warranty with them!!!

Bought the $9 cable and just ran the test. Result below. Thank you so much, CT14, for this peace of mind! My car is a 2023 RWD that I bought used about 2 months ago. Porsche NA had bought it back from the original buyer in mid-2024, after about 7k miles, due to "faulty HV battery." According to the Porsche service department, several battery modules (but not the entire battery) were replaced before it was re-sold. I got an amazing deal on the car, which still looks brand new in every way. It's still under warranty, so I already had some comfort in terms of potential repair cost, but I am super happy to see that the battery pack (as of now) looks very healthy!

Okay.... this weekend there's gonna be an update with the paid features (AI Diagnosis & Balance Status overtime tracking & SoH over time tracking).... There will also be the most wanted one. PCM updates to newest version.


However it's not as simple as it sounds that's why it's taking so long.

First of all. For each release for example 4360, there are 4 releases

MP3_ER_POG46_K4360 (FOR EUROPEAN TAYCAN)
MP3_US_POG46_K4360 (FOR AMERICAN TAYCAN)
MP3_AS_POG46_K4360 (FOR ASIAN TAYCAN)
MP3_CN_POG46_K4360 (FOR CHINESE TAYCAN)

So of course I need to ensure all the regions are available to be downloaded. As you cannot install the American update on European PCM. This 4 regions for version 4360 alone is 32GB of data BTW!


Then comes the second problem...

The earlier possible version from which you can update to 4360 is 39XX.

I believe most of you guys are on 3860..... Not 39 yet...

So you need to update first to version 4002 and then 4360 which is the latest... Two updates

I will give you guys the pack of the 2 at the same price as a single update. But I need a bit of time to prepare everything because.....

yeah I'm on 3882.
maybe consider bit torrent as the delivery mechanism. happy to help you with this aspect of you need any assistance.
also I thought from the screenshot you shared a few days back of the image on the Porsche app thing it showed at 8gb?

4360 comes with all the features of 2025 cars. Not 2026 tho!

ok maybe I'm confused then. that means each person would need to download 16gb (2x their region updates for 8gb each).
also have you thought about the legal ramifications of providing/selling these update files? I get you're in Thailand and that might be harder for porsche to do anything about it (maybe?) but do you want it to be linked to your business who will be possibly liable if they did so anything?

other file options could be to host on the likes of Aws or azure or cloudfront and would probably work out to cost about £1 for each person (assuming 16gb). again if you want some help on this just shout

Bizarre it was possible all this time but Porsche just decided nobody gets the latests software. What the actual fuck is this. We bought 100K + cars but get Dacia-like aftercare

Yeah 2025 Taycan is still PCM6.1 just like all 2020 2024 cars… Simply Porsche decided not to give the updates…

2026 Taycan is a different matter though… New updated PCM.
