Hi Folks,

got a phone call from Porsche GB to let me know that the WRS0 campaign software was being released today (Monday 23/6) and that my dealer would be in touch imminently to book the vehicle in. Sure enough, it's going in on Wednesday for the installation. Was told it should only take an hour but apparently there may be problems with the installation so to be safe they have thoughtfully got me a loaner for the day.

I've had the pilot software running on the car for a couple of months now with no indication it was there, so hopefully nothing of note to be seen going forward either!

I was added to the (pilot?) workshop campaign WRW2 about 10 days ago.
There was some uncertainty about the installation method, whether it had occurred, and if another workshop visit was needed - it was my dealer’s first.

A version - don’t know if it was the ‘final release’ or still pilot - was downloaded OTA to the car last Tuesday, a few days after the campaign was added.
The advertised installation time was 7 minutes. When I returned to the car 30 minutes later it had been completed. No hiccups. So far no noticeable impact.
I don’t know if the OTA comms module update earlier this year was an enabler for this. It would be nice and easy for everyone if this is the default installation method
’Scuse the messy photos, it took me by surprise and the dog was agitating to get out of the car for her walk!

I wonder if we'll ever find out what they changed / what extra data they are gathering.

Maybe @ct14garage can download the updated and dissect it/ look at full release notes.

Also, the software update function you are developing @ct14garage should account for this update also, so it doesn't get rolled back - not sure if there is any cross compatibility check, or if they are related in any way.

Looks like I had WRS0 installed last Tuesday when it was in for a service but I haven't noticed anything different. Is that the same update or is today's release the final version?

PCM updates are totally unrelated with BMS update that dealer will be doing

@Dabz - WRS0 was also the initial check battery campaign, I’d say it is unclear if your dealer did the BMS update to your car, but probably not. Anecdotal info to me was that roll-out would start from July. My guess is that pilot users would go first.
@ct14garage -are you certain that the BMS monitoring update is dealer only rather than OTA? Note the wording in my pic. This doesn’t seem to be a PCM update, just an update delivered via PCM? The method may differ according to region?

Can you confirm / see in the system if WRW2 is the update for WRS0, or is it some intermediary one, like WRW1 was?

When trying to confirm the delivery method I couldn’t find any info for WRW2.
It seemed the dealer also had limited info ‘from above’.
This was the PCSS screen shot they gave:

I think we need some evidence from a Porsche PPN account that the WRS0 campaign has been completed to be sure this campaign is now being rolled out.

Just checked mine, as you can see in my case at least the WRS0 has yet to be implemented.

Mine is into OPC on Friday for ARB6 etc, so asked about this update. They said they’d check on the day but right now not available (for my car anyway).

WRS0 completion for each car is dependent upon installation of the formal BMS monitoring software installation.

After reading this post I contacted my local Porsche Centre Newcastle to see if anything was available for my car and received the following reply 'the software had just become available on 24/6/25 and to book in for update', said to just wait at garage as it shouldn't take long for them to update.
I also queried if the charging limits and 60 day inspection requirements would be lifted from this point on.

'Yes, there has been progress — the software patch (WRW2) is now available and will lift the current charging restrictions, including the 60-day and 80% limits.'

Going off his reply it all seems fairly hopeful(fingers crossed)

I got a call from dealers yesterday saying my car was ready to collect having now been unblocked for delivery. Actually bought the car in April! But issues with the logbook prevented me from collecting, then when I finally got that sorted the collection got blocked by this recall.

I have now been told all is completed and I can collect this week.

What are expectations of this software update?

AIUI all it will really do is monitor the battery more thoroughly (I suspect as ct14s software does) and shut the car down if there's an issue.

It won't actually reduce the likelihood of an issue with the battery itself.

?

That’s my understanding, on-board predictive monitoring that will report an anomaly within the battery before it fails, rather than what happens now where you go straight to failure.

How graceful the process is in terms of still having a functioning car after you get a warning I dont know (I’m sure others do), would be ideal if you can get to safe/convenient situation.
