Another red Electrical system error

They said the same thing to me. They have to supply pictures of the original tyres and rims. I still hav an original winter set ... I will see what the dealer says about my displayed error but it seems there are 3 main culprits behind a red electrical system error: HV battery / 12V battery of OBC which is unlikely for me since I have the 11kwh which is not prone to failure....

Trust me there are a lot more. If there are issues with inverters, you can also have those and so on.

Normally bad inverters would give power loss I think… ? that was not the case. I had a couple of normal driving days between errors since the first one reset itself… anyway nothing more to do than wait for the verdict from the dealer. It just sucks :-(

Bad inverters tend to throw an electrical error on full acceleration...
Just saying treat it like a "check engine" light which can be anything.

If you do then extending your warranty is as simple as just swapping the wheels for the warranty inspection, I am surprised the dealer did not offer you this possibility.

I will see what the dealer says and when I switch to my winter set I will ask again for extended warranty, of course I will need the 111 point check again… hopefully it is something simple like a bad connection but I am really afraid of water ingress in the battery pack, climate here is really wet …

update: got a call from the dealer. Broken cell.... They will take the seal of the battery if this is damaged it will be an entire new battery, if not they will replace only the broken cell. So it will be done under warranty, thank god

How did this go for you? All resolved?

I got a new battery. Range improved greatly which is nice. I was disappointed at first that the battery already failed after 2,5 years of ownership but at the moment I am happy things are all resolved. Took almost 4 weeks to complete which is not bad compared to some other experiences. A valid question : who is going to buy these cars after the battery warranty expires?

We’ve all taken a giant depreciation hit, and our best move is drive them until they burn to a crisp.

Not really crazy. If you get an Audi S8 or a Panamera it's about the same after 3 years percentage wise. The Taycan is not a 911.
I bought an Audi S8 after 5 years for 22% of the value with 70000km back in the day.

I am more worried what happens to them once the battery warranty expires. That said, most J1.1 should be on J1.2 batteries by then.
