What’s the purpose of the cooling vent INSIDE the center storage compartment?

I couldn’t find any post about this, so if I missed a post, sorry about repeating the same question, but I tried looking already. Anyway, why is there a cooling vent that is completely side this cargo space? That space is small for beverage… lol

this is new in the J1.2. In the earlier J.1 cars phones would overheat if doing wireless charging plus other activity.

Wireless charging gets HOT. I had my iphone on a magsafe wireless charger and put it under my pillow when I went to bed. I woke up and it was blazing hot under there and wouldn't charge the phone past 77%.

Absolutely useless feature in J1.1. Too slow and cooks the phone and this cooling vent will not help as you need to vent hot air out. Instead of you use the rear charging ports, they are blazing fast for the reason unknown to me, and they are easily reachable via a short cable even since they are pointing toward the front of the car, and they do not initiate any actions on the phone.

That is the reason for the feature of the console lid staying half open, but impossible to get to stay fully open!

console lid’s design is the most ridiculousww thing ever. What kind of car requires usage of elbow to proper the lid open…

It gets very hot charging the phone. In reality the phone charging should be outside the console not inside. In fact I have a USB cable for when I need to charge, putting the phone in the compartment reduces the signal doh....

My iPhone overheats and shuts down in the provided Porsche charger in the console. Espially if I use CarPlay for music and navigation. I have no longer subscribed to Connect services since most of them have failed working for me.

On the other hand I believe Porsche said for the early cars (may still be valid?) that there was some kind of antenna boost provided once you inserted the phone in the wireless charger in the console? In that case the signal should actually be improved.
