So I’m picking this car up on Saturday. I asked the dealer if they could provide me with a list of all the recalls this car has been through or what parts have been replaced under warranty.

They said that they couldn’t do this but can confirm all recalls have been complete completed. I’ve checked the VIN of course and nothing is outstanding and it is from a main dealer in 🇬🇧 so I don’t distrust what they’re telling me. I just find it odd that they can’t provide me because it’s against policy for what work has been done on the car in terms of for warranty during its initial warranty period.

Understanding the history of the car can be important just strikes me as odd .

you could reach out to @ct14garage he can pull the data from Porsche server, all recalls are recorded there for a bit of piece of mind
Somebody on the Taycan FB group for the UK also suggested this - I have sent him a DM thank you for supporting this

Had a similar issue when purchasing mine from official dealer, they wouldn't give a certificate or written statement on battery health.
'Any recalls outstanding have to be done before we release the car' was the reply when I asked if specific ARA/ARB etc ones had been done.
The only other slight annoyance when picking the vehicle up was being told the Porsche Mobile Charger Connect was taken out (despite it being on the listing) due to it being a safety issue with selling 2nd hand chargers. No wonder there are so many for sale on EBay, a little side hustle for dealers :CWL:

I purchased my used Taycan 4S from Porsche Teesside just over a year ago. This included a 2 year Porsche Warranty and as such all recalls and updates had to be completed before the car could be assigned a Warranty. To date and having travelled over 12000 miles n the car I have had no reason for any Warrany work and the car sailed through MOT last October so all is well. To me the greatest comfort you should take is that if a Porsche Dealer is selling the car then it should be fit for purpose and ready to go. Enjoy

I have a fear that this is not gonna be in my car either, even though it’s on the list. I still have my old Tesla three pin wall connector from everything I read this can still be used on the Taycan

When search for any Porsche on porsche.com/us, there are options to review the vehicle history and request for battery capacity.

Carfax is US only AFAIK. In germany you get the list of recalls and service stops within the repair booklet which is usually inside the glove box.

Interesting. A buddy mentioned this as one of the items I should pay attention to, when picking up the car (CPO) from the dealer in Germany. And surprise - the charger was not in the car.
It did get retrieved 'from storage' when I inquired so I did get it eventually.

Also re:SOH - it is a 5 minute process for a technician to retrieve it (the quick reading one) - they really should not deny that.

If you’re putting down a significant amount of money on a car and the seller isn’t sharing all the details, it might be a good idea to look elsewhere. If they’re not open and honest, they might be trying to hide something from you, something they’re concerned about losing.

I could be mistaken, but it seems like it’s a buyer’s market. There are plenty of other options where I can buy without stress and with full dealer transparency.
