First off, I appreciate the updates from everyone. From joining the forum about 3 weeks ago, to passing on the first deal I found, to calling around to diff dealers, the time is almost here. A dealer swapped out an allocation for me and I put the down payment down a week ago. The freeze date countdown had begun prior to me and its on March 17th. Literally 2 weeks to make final corrections and my delivery date is Mid June. A bit wild so here I go. After all things considered on my side I'm financing as this will be my long term daily. I didn't want to lease due to mileage and long term plans for the car. I'm keeping my MB GLE coupe, and supplementing the miles between the 2 cars...but the Taycan will be the new primary. It's go big or go home time! In this regard, EV made perfect sense for me. I wasn't swayed by any 911 talk at all, everyone tried me, but that car just didn't fit my practicality for use. This car was specific to my 120 mile commute 4-5 times/week and I only aimed for a daily with better range than the 18-23mpg my GLE was getting, despite me loving that car sooooo much. Not to worry I'll give it to my kiddo as a first car in 5 years or so.

Quick facts: I wanted the GTS. I am a tech guy and wanted a high spec car vs. spending the extra on a higher powered trim level. Trust me, I had the chance for more power used CPO deals but each time I was always like NOPE. For some reason the extra $ on top of all the tech options I wanted.... and I just couldn't self justify. I did however want more zest than the 4s and had some FOMO on the added power. (Yes, I know I can always tune it later) And ohh yea, I got a great discount on even a NEW build. I live in Va and the roads and weather are pretty good. Barely any snow and we get all 4 seasons really.

Here is the spec: https://porsche-code.com/PTFPWQD5

I'm new to Porsche and ALL the options made it almost too hard to choose. While fun, I was like alright screw it...I'm going to get what I'm going to get.
Sure, maybe some are less important options, but Id rather have and not use (at times) vs. not have at all. Plus my MB has many parallel options that I know to check off.

I don't really need too much feedback on the options, as far as if something isn't worth it or not. Porsche likes it A-la Carte anyway...to each their own right. I just wanted to update you all on the SPEC and soon to be joining the Taycan community. What I do seem stuck on are the wheel choices. I had posted this before, but I can't make up my mind and need a final push. Ok, ok, ok, I know the RS Spiders are probably slightly in the lead and im cool with that. But these others also speak to the soul! I feel confident in the 21's vs the 20's for all the ride vs comfort and efficiency debates.

Last on the list are Wheels, the best at home charger to buy, and if I should go to Atlanta to pick it up or get it shipped here after a thorough video walk around and inspection and hooking up all things Porsche services. I could use my local dealership to carry out any delivery issues that may arise, and save me the 8 hour trip! I think the plane ticket itself nearly matches the delivery costs.

Sorry so long of a post. Im just getting kinda nervous about getting it right. Appreciate the support.

Great specs, I don’t think there’s anything else I would’ve selected. The one option that did throw me off is the smoking package with the ash tray ($0) because it’s so rare to see it nowadays.

I only checked it because it was no extra cost and I hear you get a free cup or something. Never smoked a day in my life!

Any thoughts on the wheel options?

I like them, have the RS Spyder on mine but they’re gray.

Yea the silver accent on the white or ice grey looks perfect. They are leading ever so slightly

Always, always, always RS Spyders (and gray ones are even better) :)

How much of a discount did they give on your build? Was it flat for any trim level or variable?

Sick spec! One question: what do you think about the Cayenne Turbo Electric?

It’s cool. You gotta know your car purpose. If I had only 1 car or needed the suv then I’d consider it. I already have an suv so it didn’t fit my need. But as far as basically combing both my cars into one…. It seems ok. I was almost scared of only having an EV as my primary. So long as you or a spouse has an ICE car it’s easily doable

Another vote for RS Spyders. The other two, my personal opinion worth about nothing, look most like wheels for an electric car and while they give a little better range, the RS Spyders could fit handsomely on an 911 GTS or similar. Our 2027 Taycan GTS will be ordered with the RS Spyders.

But to assist you in your descion making, imagine you are walking out a restaurant‘s front and seeing those three beauties across the large, empty parking lot. Which one of the three you created would you like to drive home in and own?

I think I have reviewed your build since I see you are still going for the VLC roof (when it malfunctions or cracks, remember me saying do not do it), 4+1 rear seats (useless, but looks like still in the build vs. what I did to wrap that middle storage in leather), then now I am noticing the seat belts in Slate Grey vs. matching Chalk (wonder the rationale) as well as Chrono Clock is White vs. matching Chalk. Also, not sure that you know that you have Steel rotors that will looks like rust all the time as brakes barely used since you are not adding PSCBs. Otherwise, glad you went for a lot of things that I find to exceed expectations (interior trim in exterior color and door sills in leather or race-tex).

One more, I consider a rookie mistake; to pay for weather mats on the build, I would ask the dealer to give them to you for free including the trunk mat if you want one. Kudos for not falling for another one, puddle projectors, as those can be had after market for much cheaper/better with several projection options.

As far as ATL pickup, I recommend against it and do the inspection at the dealer then take it to the PPF shop, otherwise driving the car back will be dinged up. While I did not do ATL delivery, my dealer took me to the ATL to drive cars, and the delivery space looked underwhelming and overall vibe was kind of boring, because it is a museum and working office after all, but you want to max your time on the track! However, you do get to drive a Taycan on the track and have lunch, whatever, to me not worth the time, cost, and have your car away from your home PPF shop. You can always go any time and pay to drive the cars.

I recommend Emporia EVSE for home use. All you need is to find a 60Amp circuit in the panel and make sure it is the shortest distance to the EVSE placement. Mine is so short that the copper is behind the wall and invisible as a result. Happy to help with that so you do not run expensive copper all over the place if no need to.

It's basically an ashtray that goes into one of the cup holders.

I got one hoping to be able to modify it into a phone holder (basically stick a magnetic QI charger pad on top of it). But the fit is not very tight at all, so way too wobbly to make a stable base.
