XM Radio: Hope no one is paying more than $4/month

XM Radio users: This may be obvious but recently I discovered that this may not be the case as some buyers checking XM box on their builds paying $350 for extended service.

No one should be paying more than $4/month and no one should be paying for multiple cars if you have them, and this is why:

- As soon as you cancel a sub, XM sends you a $4/month for a year letter for that radio
- XM now comes with an App, so if you have multiple cars, then you can just listen to it via CarPlay/Android Auto

* I pay for one XM radio sub on the Taycan since this is my daily driver but on the other 2 cars that have old PCM 5 (identified as MH2p), I converted them to full screen CarPlay/Android Auto and use it for XM play, but used to pay for them as separate radios.

If anyone has a car with PCM 5 that may be a Cayenne, Macan, or 911. I can help you at no cost to convert it to full screen CarPlay/Android Auto so you can save on XM sub and pick up this nice feature not available from factory.

We all complain about paying for Porsche Connect, well this one could potentially save you enough to keep it for a little longer.

I had a trial that ended and they offered something pretty cheap. It was coming up for renewal but it was like $25 a month. Was going to call it in to cancel but ended up chatting with their AI bot. It was pretty good and got a cheap deal for the year.
I’ll do it again when my other car comes up for renewal. Seems like the have plenty of room to go and need to keep subscribers.

Yep. Told the bot I was cancelling and it offered it to me at $4. Then I asked it for the plan to match the Macan’s and it did that, too.

Yep, though I pay anywhere between $4 to $5. My typical strategy is to do the online chat and just push for this pricing when chatting with a human agent. It takes some time, but it's worth it.

My friends make fun of me bc most people use Spotify, but I just love the variety of XM and the old school feel of someone else suggesting programming for me.

The XM tadio sound quality is so terrible i wouldn't pay anything for it.., Starlink is $50 a month, does that work under the Taycan panoramic roof?
