MY CT4 is in for a small warranty issue and I got a Macan EV loner (brand new). After a few days I actually start to like the car, I never drove one and I had a lot of assumptions because I only drove the ICE one.

What I like:
  • drive feel very close to Taycan, in terms of steering input and feel
  • space for the driver and for the people in the car (I have a 6 year old and the taycan feels a bit crammed)
  • easier to get in and out (I'm 39 and I start to feel it)
  • my wife has complained about the Taycan CT not being a family car
  • AC manual controls
  • better and faster screens and software
  • Next button on the steering wheel
  • More physical buttons
  • much better range, I drove 90 miles and I still had 70% of batery (it's the RWD)
  • My kid loves the roof that opens
  • confortable

What I miss/dont like
  • This is the Macan EV, so just RWD so it'a bit lazy on acceleration, I would def need the 4 or 4s. My Taycan is 4 and feels much faster
  • the sport button
  • the lift button (maybe I dont need it in the Macan?)
  • The glass roof would need to get protection as it gets hot fast, much faster than my Taycan which a roof glash
  • driving position is a bit high
  • the look
  • will likely not get any compliments for my car :)
  • innodrive as the driver assists are bad
I would still buy a 4s/gts well optioned given I was looking at the Cayenne and the one that I want would put me in the 160-180k vs 90-100 on a Macan CPO

Great feedback. I have a GTS on order. I have driven every variant but the GTS and was not sold on it. 2026 has been refined to the max so hopefully all things I did not like are resolved.

We have a Macan EV Turbo and we really like it. As to no lift button, we have set our PCM so when we come around the corner toward our house, it automatically starting about 125’ away starts to lift up the front end to clear our steep driveway apron (as we have set it up automatically to always function same for our daughter’s steep driveway apron). Works flawlessly every time.

It’s glass roof has an inside dark cloth (we can move forward or backwards as we wish) and never experienced hot sunny days’ interior overhead overheating.

Acceleration is screaming fast (auto-media tested on occasion at under 3.0 seconds to sixty MPH.

As to its looks, no argument is it way behind the Taycan. As to its not having a push-to-pass button, with our turbo’s power we candidly do not need it.

Dealerships should have GTSs on the lot now. Considering a lot of are unsold allocations you should be able to test drive them

4S or GTS is the sweet spot - options make the difference much more than trim levels on the Macan EV … the 4 is lack luster, but only from a dead stop … in all other driving it's virtually indistinguishable from the other trim levels because ya'know EV drive train…

the Macan's a great EV - but too much money - the new BMW iX3 has superior range and tech, similar performance - instant EV tech - and is $79k _FULLY OPTIONED_ with all the option boxes checked ... Porsche's EV nightmare is about to get a lot worse.

but I like my Macan Turbo - if I had to do over again GTS for me and save the un-necessary turbo delta costs…

  • AWD drive Macan's wil be more to your liking
  • sport button - heh EV - yeah no sport button
  • air supension on the Macan EV has this feature, I the the joker/wild-card diamond button do this on my Macan EV
  • I don't notice the roof getting too much heat for me in California - YMMV
  • yep - higher seating position vs. Taycan
  • I don't mind the look
  • I get some on my Macan EV - it's better than most SUV's in similar class
  • software update has improved the Macan driving assistants - not sure if your car was optioned with all assistants or was updated to latest software - I find the Macan EV no worse than my 2020 Taycan Turbo…

Must be a large metro/dealer thing. These are definitely in the flesh (I saw the first one on the ground back on May 1)

It's wild these are mostly unsold allocations

Yeah good luck for anyone wanting to pay full price.

I bought my Taycan CPO and 30% below MSRL and now it’s 34-40% at best.

I’ll buy a 4S/GTS that will be CPOed with a 30% discount

We have both, no doubt the Macan is a little easier as a daily driver for ingress/egress and does benefit from a retractable cloth shade for the glass roof. (I have a functioning VLC roof on my Taycan which has made a big difference for me in South Florida) after comparing to the regular glass roof on my Taycan loaners in the past.

We have the 4S and it most certainly knows how to get out of its own way! Perfect adjuct to a Taycan, although I myself can never be happy sitting up that high on a daily basis, and much prefer sitting down low as in the Taycan which I will do as long a my body allows me.

Otherwise, I agree that the Macan is great after some of the teething software problems were sorted and coming to terms with some cost cutting of materials in the interior when compared to the Taycan and even the previous gen Macan. Thankfully they can be easily ignored after some time as you start enjoying the many other benefits of the car.

I have the regular glass roof on my CT, also living in South Florida l, and I have a tinted foil on it (and on all windows) and I have zero problem with the heat.

I def like the Taycan more but there is no use case for two cars for us.

Your cars are beautiful

So def iX3 was on my list given the value, as my Taycan is going back in one month. IX3 is already a huge success in Europe and I think it might be the end for the Macan as a similar optioned Macan will pass 100-110k

I need to drive it but I have doubts it drives as good as a Porsche.

I think the BMW iX3 will be just about as good as the Macan, at a much better value. It doesn’t have an air suspension, unlike the new Mercedes GLC EV that is coming out soon as well.
Rivian R2 might be worth being in the conversation as well if in the US.

I really don't understand why you're saying the CT is not a family car. It's a STATIONWAGON and huge. I haven't been in the new Macan's, but I've had EV and ICE ones and they're actually smaller cars. I bought this because I have kids and cart them around quite a bit, previously with car seats. I have a lot more room (in fact too much) than my previous cars (sedans and station wagons). Honestly, I wish it was a smaller car.

If it matters, I'm 54 and tall (5'10").
