I love the CC2's on my 2012 Cayenne, especially on long interstate trips.
It's very interesting to see how many ppl like this tire on a non-Taycan. I am still hating the ride. It sucks all the enjoyment out of driving the car. I am having them replaced with PS 4S.

I can see how they might work on an SUV.

I also use PS 4S in the summer....my only complaint is that they get very noisy as the wear.

TIRE PRESSURE!
I had Cross Climate 2's on my Cayenne and loved them. When I wore out the Pirelli's at 18,000 miles on the Taycan 4 CT I put on Cross Climate 2 from Costco. The IMPORTANT aspect for good handling is the correct tire pressure. if it's just you and maybe one other person and a few items in back you just want pressures set at "partial load." In my case that's 35 front and 32 rear for All Season 20 inch rather than "full load" at 38 and 39. My tire plate on the door shows even more for a full load. But the most up-to-date are in your "My Porsche" online owner's manual as I've seen the tables settings changed. In the manual search for tire pressure tables. Then model, size and summer or all season.
My Cross Climates handle great in snow, rain or dry. G meter up to 1.09.
Michelin is always a step ahead of the other tire manufacturers because they put a big percentage of their profits back into research and development.
Good luck!

What size wheels and tyres do those running sub-40psi have?

Thanks.

Reason for asking is mine were upped by the dealer to 40psi+ when I noted the infamous tyre shoulder wear issue.

Seems to be happening less since then (running 40/45 regardless of load currently).

Mine too... had my car in for a rattle last week and they gave it back to me at 41 PSI on all 4. I put it back to 39 up front. Wear has been pretty consistent so far.

I had considered the tire pressure to be the issue, but if I let out air in order to improve the ride and grip, what does that do to the ultimate wear and tear on the tire? I am a ignoramus on these issues.

As I mentioned earlier the previous Pirelli's lasted 18,000 miles and they wore very even at partial load setting in spite of the fact that we can't rotate. I do drive spiritly when possible.

Lower air pressure = tire wear tends to be towards the outer edge of the tire.
Higher air pressure = moves the wear towards the middle of the tire.

When it comes to tires on a Porsche, it's best to go with OEM approved tires OR those that have been tested with millions of miles/kms by others. If you choose your own adventure, you have to be prepared to deal with the consequences. The Porsche suspension and camber/toe-in specs may be incompatible with that particular tire design.

So that was an interesting exercise and thanks for sharing it. I went to MyPorsche to find Owners Manual for my model and to my shock it recommends 33 psi front and 32 rear for partial load! That's about 5 psi below what the tire company put in. Then I went to TPMS to see what it recommended for "20 inch summer tire" and it says 35 front/33 rear. What to believe!? I went back to the tires and matched the manuals recommendations of 33/32. Will be interesting to see how it rides and I will report back to y'all.

My dealer recently inspected my car and updated my tire pressures. I’m hitting 50 PSI in the rears at their recommendation.

Yes it varies widely by model, tire size, tire type and load. When I go to the dealer I tell them to leave my tire pressures alone. They always want to put in 10 to 15 lb more. Full load at top pressure. Rides and handles terrible. Bouncing all over.
Again I've seen the pressure's change on the online manual albeit that should be the most up-to-date info. Not the data plate from manufacturing nor the paper copy in that glove box which truly can about only handle gloves. The LA Experience Center also confirmed the partial load pressures. That's where I picked up my car and then drove 1800 miles home.
