So far I have been driving my Taycan in the Netherlands, keeping to the speed limits of Max 130km/h. I always drive in normal drive mode, have been playing around with chassis heights and suspension. Didn’t notice a huge difference there yet.
Going to Germany for vacation we have the possibility to really push speeds at the limit free sections. What drive mode and chassis options would you recommend?

If specifically on an Autobahn then Normal drive mode would seem logical. Ride height adjusts at speed (lowers) as you know. Low ride height increases tyre wear so setting the car lower can have an unwanted side effect.

Isn’t lowest ride height more sticky? Thinking of F1 cars here…
Tyre wear is the least of my problems since I wanna use these rims for winter tyres and get new rims for summer anyway

edit PS: still thinking in terms of old 911’s who were tricky of course when slowing down from high speeds. I notice I’m still intimidated with this car although she behaves like a peach and (assuming on what I read) isn’t tricky like that at 200+ speeds!

Low features as default height when in both Range and Sports Plus where the latter in itself is really intended for track usage. Autobahn may feel like a racetrack but it isn't given the many other users on the road.

I live in Germany and have the opportunity to drive at speeds exceeding 200 km/h. I would recommend at least setting the suspension to "Sport." This has proven particularly helpful in high-speed corners on the highway. In my opinion, the suspension height is not particularly important in this context.

Enjoy!

Sport plus is for high speed tight cornering. IMHO it’s way too “nervous” on the autobahn. You will feel a lot of the imperfections on the road.
I would use normal or sport. Only difference at autobahn level speeds is if the chassis is in sport or normal.
Especially with rws and pdcc it’s tight as a drum. Enjoy!

Thanks for the replies! Sport setting it will be. Might give normal a try too. We will for sure enjoy this!

I don’t have the chrono pacage and therefor no sport plus at all :)
RAS I do have and PDCC i don’t know 🤣

With all of the performance options and 21” wheels, there is a huge difference between normal and sport+. That said, that difference is most notable below autobon speeds….

I only use Sport Plus for very responsive driving and hard cornering.
On the Autobahn, "normal" is quite convenient, as the Taycan won´t bounce/ jump than.
I have RAS, which makes it even more stable at higher speeds but also without, the Taycan is an autobahn beast.

I use sport or sport+ on the Autobahn because I like the responsiveness after I’ve slowed for something.

For your safety I also recommend choosing the distraction-free minimal display setting on the dashboard. Over about 180 I also silence the music and the passengers for 100% concentration.

You will have a great time, after all those horrible Dutch daytime 100km/h speed limits which make transiting the Netherlands so tedious! The taycan is awesome at Autobahn speeds - smoothly progressing up to 250+ km/h with barely any strain even in a loaded Turismo. On my Turbo I tried push-to-pass at those speeds which was particularly fun. At least in the gaps between one roadworks “stau” and the next. In practice if you are being safety-conscious it is hard to get a sufficiently clear, straight run in your lane and the adjacent one to get over about 200 for more than a moment.

Most important setting is stiff dampers (Sport/Sport Plus) cuz if you need to make an evasive action you want your car as responsive as possible and not forcing the car in an envelope the PAMS can't cope with.
The few times I've been driving on the Autobahn it was a joy and the car is rock solid, planted, way more than my 992 C4S at 250+km/h.
Maybe the weight and wheelbase does help a little...

Yeah, right...😂👍🏻
I kid you not!
only got 2 speeding tickets in the past 32 years. The first was 30km too fast in the old 911.. the second was my brother in law picking us up from our wedding night in my car…
I always stick to the rules, they’re there for a reason. But love to drive with fast cornering and traction.
