I picked up my Taycan GTS Sport Combi (MY 2023) three weeks ago. I've noticed that it makes a noise that can be best described as a sneese from time to time. I have so far only heard the noise while driving around in the city, and almost always while coasting or braking. The noise seem to come from the rear of the car, I have no idea if it's also audible from the outside.

Do you more seasoned Taycan owners recognize this? The only thing I can think of that the noise comes from when some valve or something releases air pressure from the suspension.

I don't have any sound like that on my 2025... the only thing that comes to mind is possibly a downshift if it's happening while slowing down (but I doubt you were going that fast in the city)?

Have a 2023 also and have not heard this... are you in Sport or Sport+ when this happens? I think a downshift noise (with sport sound on) might be the culprit? Or air suspension venting? But I don't think it does that/haven't heard it from mine...

Mine has done that..always seemed to be a transmission shift. This is a rare electric car with a transmission (are there any others?)

I have only heard it in normal mode, and under "non-inspired" driving. It sounds more like air venting, than brake pad drag.
If it is the suspension venting air, is that something I should worry about? I've not noticed any other suspension related issues.

Something like a "phssssit" from the rear ? Could be the air suspension. I hear mine from time to time, when coming to a stop. About once per day or every two days.
So far I assumed it's the air suspension system, maybe trying to keep the car flat.

Yes, exactly that. Seems there are at least two of us that hear the same thing.

Then, it's probably fine. I was surprised by it at first a year ago. It hasn't got any worse, so I suppose it's normal, part of the balancing of the car. I hear it only after braking to an halt.
I would be worried if it happens in any condition, and very often.

This. Mine does this at every stop I make.

It's the air suspension releasing air. Hope this is sustainable for long term

Usually that sound is pretty muted but I have driven with the rear seats down to load up some big items.... that's when that air releasing sound it more noticeable. I've heard it in my own car and in loaner Taycans.

I'm pretty sure it is the rear air compressor sound since the car is lowering and raising depending on speed and also leveling the ride.

I can confirm I also hear this occasionally in the morning and assumed it is the air suspension. At least that's what ChatGTP concluded. I have a 2023 CT 4S.

Interesting, maybe the sound is more prevalent in wagons

Ha, so I’m not 🤪 crazy! 2021 CT and hear the same from time to time.

Always thought of the air suspension leveling.
