It's the facelift. Issue is only on J1.1
not only on J1.1.
I had problems with Nav on J1.2… apparently lots of updates needs to be performed, they wanted to hold my car in the shop for two-three days 🤦🏻‍♂️ that’s why i postoponed it for late September.

Mine is at the dealership receiving the update as we speak.

After this is resolved, I swear I am extremely happy with the car, electronics and all. Sure it could have a few extra goodies in the way of features, or a bit better range, but overall I am super pleased and wouldn't trade for many other things out there.

Wait til your AC charger needs replaced as it won't charge your car on a ski trip, your failed fans leave you in Turtle mode in the middle of France, your DCDC converter orange rings every time you use a 400V charger and then 5 out of 7 stepper motors in the HVAC fail.

oh and then the navi crashes for 5 months.

I've not had the car 3 years and it's mid 70k miles and has left me stranded or struggling 4 times.

My 150k mile 8 year old Tesla has never done any of this (and it's hardly a paragon of reliability) but at least Tesla service are superb unlike Porsche....

Taycan is a great car to drive and mine is fairly well loaded but it's really a very poor EV.

For super long trips, the Taycan keys stay on the hook.

I agree I had the car only since October last year, but I've put already 22k km on it, so I'd argue that's given me a bit of a glimpse on what the ownership will be like. And so far, except from the navigation issue and the 22kw OBC crapping out, it's been literally stellar and without a fault.

I own 4 other cars, and in long trips, it's the Taycan I take. Maybe I am the exception, and 99% of them are lemons. Mine, however, at least for the time being, is not.

Fair enough!

Facelift? Or late model J1.1?

A lot of cars that have been driven / actually owned before being sold as CPO would have had a lot of their issues solved by the previous owner... it is a 4-6 year model after all.

Low km/mileage cars that sat on dealer lots would not have encountered most of the common issues: charger failures, hvac failures, fan shattering, servo motors for hvac failures, heater failures, camera failures, HV battery failures, rattles, etc etc. So if you get one of those 2019-2022 barely driven taycans, you'll be bombared with all the issues at once.

There's also a whole bible sized book of recalls for these cars. I am 99% sure most cars that sit on dealer lots don't go through those recalls unless they are a stop sell recall or until an actual owner asks :D

That being said, at least for my car, after all these issues/recalls, it did result in some improvments.

My cameras were replaced and the software for them has been updated, resulting in much sharper video feed than it ever had.

And this whole navigation issue that lasted 9-11 months, has resulted in a PCM hardware replacement and pcm software update, that has improved the responsivness/speed and stability of the PCM quite a lot. I can finally say that the PCM is set and forget for the first time in the life of this car, as it finally doesn't take minutes to calculate a route or to do basic interactions with it.

For clarification, the fix that Porsche is now implementing for nav issues in Europe is software update only, or software and hardware?

Software, i got the PCM hardware replaced when the software was not avaliable. Took advantage and insisted for the hardware to be replaced :D

Mine was at a reasonably well used 40k when I bought it.

Was the PCM that was replaced the same hardware version that was in the car originally, or was a newer PCM hardware version installed?

Newer hardware, same as MY25 cars. 2020-2025 cars seem to get the same PCM hardware put in them when a replacement is needed, at least here in switzerland.

My26 has different hardware, at least by part code.
