My commute to work is short at 6 miles on twisty 60 mph narrow roads with possibly 1 temp [for over 1 year!] traffic light stop for approx 30 seconds to 1 min.
In the winter my J1.2 does circa 1.5 m/kW.
In the recent hot weather it's doing circa 3.2 m/kwh.
Pleasantly surprised.

Is it just me or are these cars **very** aggressive about warming up their batteries? The GoM also does a terrible job at taking that energy into account.

My battery pretty much stays at ambient outdoor temperature unless I am traveling longer distances. It warms somewhat during home charging, but nothing dramatic.
I see no need to cook the battery if you are not fast charging.

Miles per Kilowatt also doesn’t make much sense. That’s like giving a car’s fuel efficiency in “miles per horsepower”.

A kilowatt and a kilowatt hour are not the same but are often confused. A kilowatt is a measure of power, think “how fast can I run” but kWh is is a measure of energy, think “for how long can I run at that speed”.

A battery with a 100 kWh capacity means it can output 100 kW for an hour, or 50 kW for 2 hours, or 200 kW for 30 minutes, or 400 kW for 15 minutes (you get it at this point).

It Would make it easier if a kWh had a cool name, but unfortunately it doesn’t and makes it really confusing to people.
