Nice surprise! Range increase after OTA update

My J1.1 2022 4S CT just got an OTA update that included some tweaks to the battery management system. At 85% SoC, my range now says 242 miles (was around 220 before). Whether or not this translates to real world range improvement ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ but it’s nice to see that the J1.1 cars haven’t been completely forgotten.

I’ve noticed an increase in my range as well, but I doubt it‘s accurate. 237 miles at 70% for a J1.1 just doesn’t make sense mathematically unless my efficiency is over 3.6mi/kWh

Mine also improved. I’ve gotten as high as 280 driving normally, 270-275 including some freeway driving.

I've noticed another change lately: charging from 80% to 100% seems to be a bit faster. The announced time until fully charged is quite shorter than earlier.

Same here. 85% charge at 244 miles..

The update occurred around July 3–4, 2026. The trips on July 6 and July 9 didn’t have the same start and end points, but efficiency did improve by about 0.2–0.3 mi/kWh on those drives.

Im in the UK had a BMS update OTA earlier this month.
No change to the range.

2021 Nov CT 4.

I also did the battery SOC diy, got ut down to 5% then charged to 100% following instruction with no material change still at 245.

After performing the update last night, this morning I went on a 53.7-mile roundtrip and used up 21% SoC.
So that's an extrapolated 256-mile range, at optimal temperatures but mainly suboptimal speeds (both too fast and too slow).
Efficiency was 2.9 mi/kWh, which implies total usable battery capacity of ... wait, hold on, even with adjusting for possible rounding in the reported figures, isn't that impossible for J1.1!?!?
(Even more so with almost 76k miles).

Anyway, upon returning home, the GoM was surprisingly pessimistic: 149 miles at 64% SoC, so an extrapolated 233-mile range projection.

Actual driving, I charged last night at home with 20 miles left in range after driving 255 miles overall.
