Yes, that's for all four — fronts and rears plus labor. Still painful but makes more sense broken down that way.

Good call on Suncoast.

As for the rears — the coating failed on all four, so I don't have the option to skip them unfortunately. But your point is well taken for anyone else reading this who's only dealing with fronts.
You’ll still save then by getting the parts from Suncoast. Get the bolts and sensors too as the dealership will insist on new.

You should save a few thousand in the end.

Has anybody tried chiseling off the coating and running the bare iron discs? Anybody know what sort of binder is used? It'll usually be Co or Ni.

There is a downgrade option using the same calipers? Do you know the part numbers?
That might be an option. Don’t know the part number. Hoping someone can let us know.

Thanks for the suggestion

In theory there is, in practice nobody has tried yet.
There are 971 panamera discs that have equal thickness, diameter and bolt pattern. However, I don't know if the offset is the same.

I think it's fair to say PSCBs are kind of a failed experiment.
Many of us have had them forced on us due to wheel choice, but they really do not make sense.

Having just redone all of my brakes (on a brand new car, grr) I hope I don't need to change them for a long time, but when I do I will seriously explore the cost/benefit of "downgrading" to iron brakes.

My previous GTS had them. I preferred the red calipers and the dust never bothered me, as the wheels are black anyway.

I’ve since filed a complaint with NHTSA documenting the failure, mileage, and the vehicle’s braking profile. If you’ve experienced the same issue, I’d encourage you to do the same — the more complaints on record, the better the chance NHTSA takes a closer look.
I still think contacting the dealer first was a better idea imho.
Going to PCNA straight away isn't helping you either.

Besides, if your braking performance isn't comprised the NHTSA isn't doing anything anyway.

Just my €0,02.

Just replace them with steel rotors and call it a day.

Considering the coating is so thin and its a cosmetic issue, is there any merit in getting them skimmed?

That would eat the cutters. The discs would have to be ground.

Good point 😊

Big “if” but Brembo have offerings in 412mm x 38mm for the Panamera & Cayenne.

Seems logical that the brakes would have been shared across platforms.
