Thumbs Up & Double Takes: Your Favorite Taycan Reactions?

Thought it would be fun to share some of our favorites reactions to the Taycan. My Oak Green Metallic is such a looker. I’ll share three:

1. Driving in Austin on a slow Main Street past a young guy and his girl, the guy just starred and followed us as we drove by.
2. Driving down a long single lane street near home, passed a new bright red corvette convertible as the young driver stared us down and smiled.
3. Going through a fast food drive thru line where a young (probably high school) server smiled at my wife and me and she really liked our car!

Crowd pleaser, best looking non-exotic car.

Comparing driving a GT3 (or BMW M cars), those enthusiast cars are best at attracting dudes, old dude, young dudes. I have noticed that Taycan catch the eye of females (finally! Though it's too late bc I've been married for 20 years)

Not my favorite — What is with all the race invites from big diesel pickups? I don’t bite because of the emissions consequences.

I had both ways.

In the Netherlands during traffic jams, I see people looking a bit annoyed and can clearly see they say something not so nice about the car (or me). We tend to be as average as possible around here, so Taycan is too much attention for some.

And I also had some encounters with some YouTubers/car spotters. Mostly children think it’s a Ferrari. And then they see it’s a wagon and they look flabbergasted.

The most engaging responses come from fellow EV owners. During supercharging, they pose various questions with genuine interest. When I display the boot and its capacity, every one of them is surprised; it truly exceeds the size of most average EV SUVs.

I can appreciate all reactions. My wife prefers no reaction at all and wants me to buy a VW next. That and depreciation determine I never sell Oh and of course last; my own reaction... I look at my Taycan way too much and enjoy every km/mile.

Agreed, the car attracts the most engagement at charging stations. Everyone knows what it is, and is a "halo" EV for many.

It’s why I ride with no tint! Class needs to be seen! I don’t know what’s worse, pulling up in scrubs and a white coat in the new Taycan or the same on the sport bike. People can never get a read on me

side note. My 10 year old daughter jokingly hates it. Summer camp pick ups and all and she’s embarrassed he dad drives such a cool car. Had to sit her down and have the semi fun confidence talk.. about those who can, do! Since when do preteen girls know about Porsche’s. I blame the internet

I love when people are convinced the car has a V8. I tell them it is an EV, and they say it is impossible even though the car and the license plate say it is electric. Too funny.

I don't know but one thing I do know: there are a few very frustrated AMG, Lamborghini and Ferrari drivers out there.
Gracefully, seemingly effortless beating supercars at the traffic lights.
This never gets old!

My frozenberry gets a lot of reaction on her color.
no one ever saw this color before, estimates ranges from pink and purple to champagne and even liver… but most simply ask “what color is this?”

As a woman and driving very sporty I also get very cool reactions from (mainly) dudes. And loads of pictures are taken by teens both girl and boy.

My favorite reaction: "Is that a Tesla"? .............. (I was charging at a Tesla supercharger at the time)

I once heard someone say “it’s a Panamera” at a Home Depot parking lot. Mostly I get lots of “I love your car” or “your car is awesome”.

Same, same…

• Shock and dropped jaw.
• Staring and head tracking as I drive by
• Men and sometimes women coming up to me in the parking lot and saying
  • “That is the most beautiful car I’ve ever seen.”
  • ”What color is that?” (Ice Gray)
• Picture taking of Mission-E wheels by strangers
• ”Does it have a V8 in it?” (followed by shocked and somewhat irritated look when I say “Taycan - It’s a Porsche EV” since the person saying this is a gearhead and thinks EVs are glorified golf carts)
