Wow. Is that consistent or a one-off? (what is your median number in summer highway driving)

Has anyone else come close to this on on US highway speed driving ? For an AWD, everything I read puts the real world range in highway driving about 100 miles less than that....

If it's real and consistent, that's awesome (and in Lucid territory)

Wow, that's still high. You either have an optimal battery efficient driving style or the luck of the draw for the battery!

According to my dealer, DC doesn;t affect SoH.
He told me about one who made 160k km, charging only on DC,with SoH 86%.
Otoh, i was charging AC only for three years, had 89% at about 50k km.
During last year i was using DC about 4-times every month, SoH still 88% (at 65k km).
It's amazing how many dealers have PhDs in Electrical/Chemical Engineering and knowledge of BMS design! See also: 'my dealer told me that charging to 100% at all times has no impact on SoH'.

Porsche has a patent (US11360155B2) that spells out how they designed the SoH model.

It ingests the history of observable battery characteristics (time-series of temperature, voltage, current, charge/discharge profiles, cycle counts) plus process parameters (e.g. SoC at start/end, C-rates, temperatures) to produce the SoH number. This article from ~2020 describes it.

DC charging is a factor that will affect many of those inputs, it's just not the only factor.

SoH is essentially an estimate of how much of the original baseline capacity remains usable. All VAG cars in the USA promise warranty replacement if usable capacity falls below 70% usable relative to the new baseline capacity. It's an industry standard to have a design objective of >= 80% usable by the end of service life.

My own MY22 CT4 is at an SoH of 92% at the four year mark, with low mileage (10K) and limited DC charging. Last weekend I ran through the deep rebalance cycle. Interestingly, this had zero impact upon my SoH number (it remained the same down to 2 decimal places), but did significantly increase my guessometer range at 100% - 301 miles. I have never seen my range at over 300.

Considering the OP's circumstances, if my SoH were in the low 80's entering year 5, I would be a bit worried and would be pampering the battery, pressing service to investigate and/or making plans to sell the car before the SoH becomes a depreciation multiplier.

I just shared an experience from real vehicle and i’m quite sure that he was not lying 🤷‍♂️

About guessometer: when my ct4 was new, guessometer was showing up to 450km, but i made around 400km only….while after four years it shows up to 330km, and i was making 300km only…

My new 4s now shows up to 520km, and i’m making about 480km.

btw, when i bought my 1st taycan, a friend of mine (with phd on physics) told me, that age of the battery has the most influnce on SoH.

So you were able to make only 300 km in the summer? Or was that wintertime? 300km in the warmish sounds really low.

300 in the summer, when i was driving to my summer house (260km one way), mostly on highway, with a speed over 140km/h… on some parts 170+ 😇

or…350km on regional roads, up to,90km/h.

SOH jumped from 83% to 86% after first balancing. Got recently the fans changed under warranty and did a second balancing and it's now at 89%, Range improved to 397km, It was previously 373km. I'm doing the battery diagnosis soon.

My SoH was 89% and i;ve never performed any balancing in 4 years.

You can check it for yourself with an OBD-II dongle and a mobile app. Multiple threads in the forum have details.

@B61 No criticism directed at you - I was pointing out how dealers give out bad information, which is a problem since they are often seen as authoritatively representing the brand.

With my usage pattern the SoH tends to drop to around 86%. I can then recalibrate it with the procedure mentioned multiple places here and it jumps back up to to 90+.

Actual useable range have not changed much in the years I've had the car so I'm not too concerned about the SoH number - It is clearly not super precise.
