On a more serious note, the best value can be found in the packages. So, you might consider picking all no cost options and then only the “Premium Package.” This would give you a lot of bang for your buck plus put many of the “expected” options on the car

I think at the very least get the air suspension and premium package and I am sure that it will help with resale as well as it has most of the options that most people would consider essential in a car this price. I am very happy with the full leather interior of my car and it is the nicest quality leather I have ever seen, I was very unimpressed with the standard interior of a 4s I test drove.

I don’t think you can buy a “bad” Taycan. I know there are people on here that are happy with the steel springs. I had a boxster with zero options on it. Not a one. I was really happy with it.

I would be concerned about the resale value of a base RWD car w/out any options. Paid up for about $25,000 of options and wishing for more (adjustable suspension, retractable mirrors, turning rear wheels primarily).

I don't think you'll be happy without some minimal level of options. I ended up a little more than 20% above base price for my RWD and that was with minimal upgrades (Premium package, 20 inch tires and better wheels, air suspension, 2+1 seating, massage seats and a few others). I am happy with my spec and it works well as a daily driver.

One thought would be to look at what features are on your current car that you take for granted and use on a daily basis and what you might miss out on with a basic spec Taycan - for example, Rear Cross Traffic Alerts are an option and require an upgrade to Remote Park Assist, though this feature is standard even in economy cars like the Toyota Corolla. Heated steering wheel is also surprisingly extra cost.

This is actually really irksome: Porsche makes you pay for features that are standard on most other cars. I go back and forth between thinking it is good that you pay for only what you want and thinking that it is a marketing trick to make the cars seem less expensive than they really are.

I know it's silly, but I really miss the self presenting doors (and the ability to open and close every door from the control panel) on my Tesla model X, particularly because the Taycan doors are very large (and I'm very lazy).

I totally understand the feeling. Also coming from a model X. Sometimes I enter the Taycan, press the brake and wait until the door closes automatically and nothing happens..... Very disappointing.
I don't want silly options like ambiant lighting, analog clocks, compasses, dead cow skin everywhere or air ionizers. I want automatic doors !

Are there any aftermarket solutions for this ?

The OP is in the UK. We don't get "packages" in the UK.

It would make for an interesting post (which I am not willing to make)….."if you could only add one option to your spec above the base, what would it be?"

Order it in Mamba Green Metallic. If the color is ignored, the 150kw/400v option so I can charge at the Tesla stations.

Gotta disagree with you there. Neptune Blue is gorgeous, at least that is what everyone keeps telling me!

I agree that Neptune blue is gorgeous. Almost changed my order to this color. I just don't want to contribute another black, white, or silver car to NY.
