ANA6 recall uPdate Update

indeed.. as a Tesla owner that gets every 2/3 weeks a update with big changes or new functions that takes 20 min's overnight reading this topic is just painful.

What did I order

The best looking, best handling, fastest charging EV on the planet.

Don't sweat this update stuff. Yes it is absurd, especially compared to Tesla updates, but we have reason to believe OTA updates will happen from this point forward.

If you haven't taken delivery yet it's quite probable you will never experience this pain at all.

I'm happy I could do so.

I'm in a similar position as you; we are a two-EV household (my wife drives a Model 3) so I see the advantages/disadvantages of each side.

Porsche IS getting better at software. This update is very good.

I echo the sentiments of those that suggest this is really not a big deal. Car maintenance can be frustrating whenever it is needed. If this car performs as well as my last 3 "p cars" it will prove itself far more reliable and free from defects than any other car I've owned.

Besides, hanging out in a porsche dealership can be a very zen experience.

I haven't driven my car since February, when it arrived in the US. My hope that this uPdate was the end of the delivery delays was of course dashed, and there are additional codes that are not understood after the uPdate. Porsche has been contacted in an effort to understand what needs to be done next to get the car operational.

I appreciate that your experience suggests that this is not a big deal. I'm glad that was your individual experience.

Does anyone know where we can find a list of voice commands? In particular I make extensive use of voice to text when driving and I'd like to understand what commands are available.

"Hey Porsche":
-navigation <address> (this one speaks for itself, so to speak...?).
-Set Radiostation <name or freq>
-volume <up/down>
-I'm cold (temp goes up 2 deg)
-I'm warm (temp goes down 2 deg)
-Set temperature to <deg you want>
-Airconditioning lower (airco goes to manual, low)
-Airconditioning auto (airco goes to auto again).
-Turn seat warming <on, lower/higher, off>
-Turn seat cooling <on, lower/higher, off>
-Change ambient colors.
-Find chargers near me.
-Find chargers nearby (first tap a spot on the map).
-Demist windscreen.
-massage me.
-massage passenger.

PS It works in Dutch so I don't know the exact English saying. ??‍

OK I got her back! A few things to unpack here...

1. As I drove away from the dealership, about a block away, the PCM went completely blank. That never happened before. I decided to drive around the area for a bit. It did not repeat, but that was not a confidence builder for starters.

2. Seems "most" of my profile was saved. Carplay fired up immediately. Sigh of relief.

3. The first thing I wanted to see was filtering of stations. So I spent some time checking that out. It did not find any 250kw+ stations near me and I know they are here. I guess I will be using other phone apps for the time being as I test it further.

4. The weather widget continues to be glitchy. I like that on my custom screen (not sure why - weather here never changes ). Many times will say "service not available. Try again later."

5. IMPORTANT: I tested the lift-save feature and it seems these may have been wiped out and will need to be reset to avoid bottoming out.

6. BUT! The homelink control now is at the bottom of the screen so less intrusive when activated. AND.....it disappeared once I drove a block away from the house. That's a good thing!

Overall its nice to have the colored tiles but I'll reserve judgement on the rest of the update for now. I have an RWD so many features from that release don't apply to me.

Oh my god, I really don't like the color of the buttons but maybe it's not as bad as on these pics.
Red means not ok, green is ok.... that's intuitive so why Porsche? Why? It was just fine....??‍

Now it looks like a Playskool® tablet...

Still, I look forward to the other stuff in this update, not that I have any problems but still...

Mine was done yesterday. First drive today, as above dash screen went blank twice, never done that before and main dash pod screens completely re booted once when centre screen went blank. Also, what’s really annoying is handles now don’t pop out if I unlock and walk away and back again. Before if left unlocked and I messed about for a while if I walked close to car handles popped out. Now car is unlocked but I have to get key out and unlock again to get handles out. It may not sound much but with kids, getting stuff in and out it’s super annoying!

I am going in for the uPdate tomorrow morning - crossing my fingers - but based on the picture above I tend to agree with @Dee that the older monochrome buttons looked more classy than the brightly colored new ones. Maybe it is just me getting older and resisting change. I nevertheless am looking forward to the post-update experience.

I also think I'll miss having the notifications always showing on the side. Now it looks like you'll have to go into an "app" to see them.
