Any solutions to remote start other than paying Porsche $399 a year....?

These cars have been out for a while now. ANyone know a solution to remote start (i.e.- pre-heating or pre-cooling) that will save me $300-$400 a year?

And that also don't involve me running out to start my car and then running back in?

It's actually the fastest heating/cooling car I've had - but on 20°f days, still nice to have...

When i first read about car manufacturers (i think the first articles mentioned BMW by name) i swore to myself i wouldn't let them nickel and dime me to death wit things like this.

One option that doesn't cost anything is to turn on the "enable climate on unlock" settings in the Comfort menu. Then you could unlock the car from the key fob a few minutes before leaving, which would precondition the car.
Of course it wouldn't work if you park the car out of key fob range, but at least it costs nothing to try.

Send your kid/wife/girlfriend to start the heating/cooling ahead of time Usually free

You can also set multiple timers with the pre-condition option checked for when the car is ready, that will pre-condition the car. But it will get messy and buggy eventually, if you add more than 2-3.

Yep (just checked), a year after cancelling my Porsche Connect Services I still get navigation map updates and remote climate control …

It’s a 2020 year Turbo S so Connect Services subscription expired long ago

My 2024 Mini Cooper SE has this for free in the Mini app as well as a pop up on the center screen when you turn the car off to keep Climate Control on.

Can anyone else with an expired Porsche Connect account try to see if they can still access?
