Apple Music + PCM error after registering

Apple Music + PCM worked fine for months and stopped working for me one day.
The error occurs when trying to fetch the list of songs.
“Error. Please try again”. And hitting the “repeat” button logs me off and puts me into a registration step.
After registration , it errors out again when trying to query for songs.


things I’ve tried

- reset PCM to factor setting
- logged out and logged into my account
- unlinked within Apple Music setting on my phone
- went and deactivated and activated Apple Music contract within the car under connected services

Any help appreciated

I have same issue, started yesterday, @VoltDriven. Interested in the communities experience and solution.

Perhaps it’s a server side issue ? Tried everything. Which annoying. I am bringing my car in on Monday and will report back if anything comes up

Most probably Porsche server side problem. Wait a couple of days to resolve. Or use Apple CarPlay - that’s way more stable :) I’ve been struggling for entire year using in-built Spotify app, but then gave up ns switched to CarPlay

How about disconnecting / reconnecting from your Porsche ID as if registering for the first time via My Porsche?

I think this is a common, recurring issue.

It happened to me again a couple of days ago. I still have no access. Apple Podcasts work, though!

I think the problem will clear itself in a day or two, going on previous form.

Until then, I will just listen to Podcasts, or the radio like in days of old, or through my phone (since I am not an iPhone or Auto Android user).

Happened to me yesterday too. Switched over to CarPlay instead. I recall this had happened before and it fixed itself in a couple of days.

So, I wrestled with this a lot last year. I would call Porsche support and they would do something on their end and it would come back. It finally cured itself for good when I activated the in-car WiFi access point. The only thing I can attribute it to is that without the paid WiFi service, the car’s LTE connection gets throttled after it reaches its monthly limit and makes everything wonky.

My suggestion is to call the 800 number and not mess around with resetting the PCM, logging in and out, etc. None of that worked For me.

As always, YMMV.

Just be patient, it’s weekend. All sw engineers are not working. These kind of outages are not prio 1 issues, so they will work on it coming week.

Coming up on 2 years of Taycan ownership. I mostly gave up on Porsche direct integration with music streaming services (I used Spotify). I switched to using Apple CarPlay for music streaming because Porsche native app just was unreliable. Either errors were thrown, or it would tell me it's "loading" forever. Every once in a while I try to switch back to the native app, usually when leaving passengers in the car while I leave the car to go pick up food or something, but eventually (within days) it craps out again so I end up switching back to CarPlay streaming.

Has been reliable for me on 2 different Taycans since 2020 for both Apple Music and Podcasts.

I once had to re-make the association with my Porsche ID and Apple ID in the app but that was all.

Confirmed with Porsche that this is a known bug on their end which happened on the 9th. It should fix itself hopefully soon
