Backup Camera Quality to Improve?

Displayed in standard mode only and doesn't make any sense to display in a fisheye view which would be too distorted to be useful.

I know, but in that case, i’m missing red/blue lines of direction…

If you pull the washer stick whilst in reverse it will clean your camera.

For the ST / CT it's at the end of the wiper stalk - you do not need to be in reverse gear.

On the saloon it's a soft button on the rear camera icon.

I think that button on the CT operates the rear wiper, not the camera wash. Must admit i didn't know there was a camera wash though. It does seem to get grubby quickly where they positioned it.

I just bought a Mercedes AMG, my second car, and compared to the Porsche Taycan 4S, they're backup camera is simply exquisite. Why is the backup camera of the Porsche a much more expensive car terrible? My daughter who drives a Mazda 3 series, claims that her backup camera is better than that of my Porsche Taycan 4S?
Does anybody know, if there are any plans for them to improve their software, because I think the camera is okay it's just the software that renders the image is terrible and moves every time you turn the steering wheel!!

The rear camera on the CT /ST is washed when you wash the rear screen by pushing the wiper stalk forward

Push the stalk away towards the dash to activate.

For the camera wash reverse gear should be engaged - my mistake. Same on my Panamera.

Guys (apologies for asking) but you know you can switch views - fish eye / non-fish eye - I expect you do?

I came from a Panamera with the same 360 view setup - apart from a larger PCM, everyone remarked on how clear the camera views were - and in the Taycan (apart from a slightly smaller PCM screen) I see no difference. I've not seen better in BMWs, Mercs, others this side of the pond.

Must be different in US I guess.

I use both fisheye and non-fisheye, neither mode is great. I think it's made for people keeping more at least a couple of feet away from everything, so an approximate guide (I often park closer than 2 feet away from things on every side). I tend to park in much closer quarters. Taycan backup camera view is the least useful from any car I've owned in the past. I wish I had the curb view btw, but apparently by paying for 3d view I also paid to remove the curb view.
