Baseline for HV Battery SoH Performance

Got the car back from dealer for warranty work and asked them for SOH-

2022 RWD

1. Unknown
2. 91%!
3. 48,200 miles (one of their highest, if not highest mile Taycans they said)
4. Very little DC charging, maybe 1%, 3-4 road trips over 2 years.
5. 10/21 build date I believe.

Also- charged to 85% daily from new, and rarely (less than 10% of time) below 25% SOC.

Pretty bad. I feel my changed charging habit is making the pack more unbalanced than previously.

Two or three months ago I stopped doing weekly charges from 20% to 80% at 50kW in favour of daily charges from 50%-55% to 65-70% on a old 3.2kW at my workplace.

Don't think that was a good idea.

Or I'm overthinking and this is just how it is. Slowly killing the battery, one charge at the time.

If my battery dies before 8 years and 160k km's it doesn't bother me.

Still better than mine at 9.5K miles vs ca 11K miles - suspect a rebalance routine would pop you back to 90% which is pretty well in the middle of the pack :)

Hot zone. This car is one of the lucky APB5-ers.
Wow - now that would seem to be significant degradation - if I recall correctly the APB5 recall was something about potential to short circuit the HV battery? But not sure how this relates to you super low Soh.

I'd suggest again to maybe perform the 'laymans' battery re-balancing to see how much this might improve this number? Sept 2021 build is literally two months before mine and despite you having driven double my miles it is still a very low mileage to be seeing this low an Soh (6% lower than mine).

Will get you on the chart asap - done.

Thanks - yes, the recall is for the HV battery; not sure I understand much about it or how it could impact Soh. My car is going into the dealer on Friday for the recall, so I took my first reading in advance of that.

Ah, apologies - so not just a short circuit issue but a failed or corrupted battery pack? This is another thing altogether and would obviously suggest the low Soh related - curious to hear back re what the techs report?

Excellent, thx - for ref, the last post ( #475) I got from you was listed as your 5th but I actually only have 4 readings from you in the spreadsheet to date - this most recent would then be the 5th - and to be sure I assume your mileage is in miles not KM correct?

I was not sure about 4 readings - just wanted to note, that you already have a few readings. Mileage is in miles. Thank you very much for your work - we all appreciate it very much! My SoH also went up by 1,7% in the last month - as temperatures are getting warmer - so actually no loss in SoH in the last 6 month. I took readings every month.
