So just to recap quickly
Bought car at Iaai uk action with undercariage damage, asked them what damage it was they told me wheel misaligned.
car arrived scanner told me module 26 2 cells 0.26v rest all were 4.10v
at last replaced the battery and store the faulty one outside.
arrived to day to work and saw smoke. apparently it caught fire. no rain dry days at least 3 days. max 20 degrees.

Thank goodness the battery was not in the car when it ignited!

This is a lesson for all of us; when buying used make sure to have the battery pan inspected and reject if there are dings > 3mm (Porsche’s threshold)

That pic of the undercarriage is way too small to even see something.

What "component protection" are you referring to?

Where did you source a new battery and what were the cost?
More pics of the rebuild would be nice.

It's nice to have an interesting story but it's way too interesting to skip details.
