How often is your Taycan on fire?

My car has never on fire, but I hove been told it is "sick" by some youths at a car wash. I believe this is a complement.

Joking aside: I do worry about fires post-collision. Especially when combined with acoustic glas and different door handles.

Each one of these is different from what rescue workers/fire fighters are used to. Combine all three, and I think there's a non-zero probability that all these modern EVs have lower survivability for some class of crashes.

It's not a Taycan only problem, Tesla, Rivian, Lucid all have the trifecta too.

Well, unlike Tesla, at least you don't need to pull up the manual to figure out how to open the doors manually while the car is burning!

On the outside, I've had folks struggle to open the door a number of times. I'm also not 100% confident that the mechanism works flawlessly when power is out and they don't extend.

Mine is never on fire, but I heard on the Internet that there have been 142,361 Taycan fires to date. So, that means a lot of Taycans are burning, some of them twice.

Does that count the Felicity Ace? If so, I want a recount.

my Taycan could be the exception, but once you get past the handle not popping out , if the car is unlocked manually pulling the handle out works well for me and my kids.
If it is locked…. Not sure what happens when you manually pull handle out, will try when I get it back from shop… hopefully next week?!?

All I know is that when I drop my kids off at their school, folks regularly struggle with the door handle when it's not extended. (we have one of those "drive through drop-offs" and teachers/school staff open the doors for the kids).

Not saying it's that difficult... but I can imagine that there might be situations where even a split second wasted trying to figure out another type of door handle is a split second that didn't need to be spent on that.

It's the same with the acoustic glass: there are special tools to take care of that type of glass. But now you're moving from "anybody knows how to break this glass" to "you'd better have a tool like that".
