Just bought the car less than 1 week ago…
I purchased from an Infiniti dealership who said the car was all certified and passed their checks etc etc BS BS whatever. I did not ask for the car to be put on a lift as I didn’t know this battery panel cover scratch issue was a thing on a lot of taycan cans apparently where they get scratched and you’re fkd
Anyway a few days after I took it home got on my stomach and looked under the car and there was damage to the plastic drivers side wheel liner right by the front bumper which means someone probably ran over a low speed bump or curb or something. I didn’t get on my stomach to look under at the dealership since it’s so low to the ground ?
Then tonight I started reading about scratches under the cars battery panel and decided to look. Low and behold following down the line from the wheel liner damage is this nasty scratch about 3 ft from it. It’s long and it’s on the metal cover but right at the very edge by the drivers side door.
So how how fkd am? This dealer really lied through their teeth about the damage to the car and I’m a fool for not asking for it to put on a lift. Frankly I was new to the Taycan I wouldn’t have even been concerned about the scratch but more so the plastic wheel liner that was ripped and hanging off. Meanwhile this scratch is the real issue I’m reading. Obv clean carfax 1 owner checked all the boxes. Useless.
The car is a 2021 and has 3 months of warranty remaining. Keep in mind it drives fine and all that, but I have to worry about the battery warranty being voided now and such.
I assume get it to a Porsche dealer and have them do an assessment right? From what I’m reading insurance covers this type of damage so outside of the deductible I shouldn’t be too financially burdened correct?
Also keep in mind I absolutely did not cause this damage. I’ve driven it less than 30 miles so far on the smoothest of roads. If I call up Infiniti and demand my money back they are going to say “prove it” I’m assuming. What would you do?
Thank you. This is just not my week or month or even 2025 for that matter unfortunately (sounds like the friends intro) not having a good run of luck in my life lately…
