Thanks for the feedback fellas. I’ll check out Artec, Dynamic and Hagen. I’ve also heard of Double Take and Auto Pro.

Since this Taycan was bought out of state, which Bay Area dealer is reputable for servicing? Stevens Creek, Marin or SF any good?

Avoid Porsche Los Gatos. I like Redwood CIty.

I got a flat in my driver side, rear this evening when traveling on 680S in Fremont. I have Porsche Wheel and Tire Protection so I'm not sure how this all would go without it (or with it)... I called 1 800 Porsche and the automated system asked to send me a link to fill out a request, which I did.

Interestingly it gave me four options of where to tow: Porsche Fremont, Redwood City, Santa Clara and Los Gatos. I chose Los Gatos because it's by far the closest to my home and how hard can it be to change a tire? So wish me luck on that.

The process arranged a flatbed to come pick up the car and estimated 30-75 minutes, which took about 90 minutes to arrive. The process was pretty good about updating me with texts. About 60 minutes in I get a call from the driver saying he's 30 minutes out.

Tow truck driver drives the car up the lowered bed and locks it in. Pretty good system that looks like it didn't scratch the rims, but I'm not sure as it was dark when I was dropped off. On the positive side I got to ride in the Tow Truck giving me commuter lane access for my ride home :)

Los Gatos Porsche was closed by the time I got there but I found their drop box and left my key. The system told me I'd receive a 60.00 voucher for Lyft and that Lyft would contact me. Lyft did not but when I opened the app and reserved a ride, it was free.

All in all not terrible, but not near the experience I had in my first flat with Tesla 10 years ago. In that case a tow truck came and swapped out my wheel, getting back on the road in about 15 minutes total. He took the flat wheel to the closest Tesla dealer who called me in the morning and told me it wasn't repairable. I picked up the wheel, took it to America's Tire and had it fixed and mounted on the spot and returned the loaner wheel.

another vote for Dynamic Detailing, I have been going to Daniel for many years and have found their shop to be amazing. You should check them out in person. He throw tons of events there, from F1 watch races, watch events and PCAGGR events.

Pretty impressed so far with Los Gatos. Their system texted me first thing this morning with a work order to sign, all covered by the protection package. Service person has been responsive through text as well.

They've ordered a new Pirelli PZero R and I'm not getting the car back until tomorrow or Monday. I suppose this is a downside of going to a smaller service location and I bet Santa Clara has stock on hand. I hope they can send one over fast.

It’s very rare the dealers stock these tires, 1 day delivery in our area is as good as other tires shops like America’s Tire

good writeup on the experience. Honestly, while this experience sounds easy, I'd prefer to figure it out myself. I recently picked up a nail in my newly installed winter tire, this is what I did after the TPMS alerted me:

1. identify the puncture location - saw it was in the middle tread section and determined it's repairable.
2. pump up the tire daily to correct pressure. Monitor daily until fix can be performed.
3. Schedule repair at America's tire.
4. drive to America's tire and drop off car. Tire is repaired in a more sustainable and safer manner. They patch the interior and then plug the hole. (many repair shops ONLY plug). Pick up the car within 1 hr service.
5. monitor tire pressure

Btw all this is free...

This is why I never buy tire insurance, even when I order my tires from America's tire. The repair works every time, and I've been doing this for 10 years now.

Should this be a blowout situation, my path would have been to call my own tow and have the car taken to America's tire, and then order the replacement tire there. Unless you struck something huge or on the sidewall, a blowout can be avoided by ensure proper tire pressure and monitoring speed until replacement/fix.

If you're full PPF, a simple spit shine and whatever towel you please will do the job.

Turns out it was a screw too close to the sidewall so the tire would be replaced regardless. I've always done what you mention specifically with America's tire, so this process was a bit new. The tire wouldn't hold air long enough so tow was the only option.

The service guy called the insurance provider (there are several apparently and mine is IAS) and got approval. All in all pretty seamless and the only PITA was getting the flat to start with, the amount of time I had to wait for a tow and that they didn't have the tire in inventory (you'd like all service centers would be keeping this stuff at hand).

Just got the car back. Over all the Los Gatos service was fine and I appreciate the quick service (in Wednesday evening after closing through the after hours drop box, out Friday evening just before closing). The Service person was really responsive yesterday, not so much today (which he apologized for).

As mentioned the tire had a screw near the side wall and was covered in full which came to 733.98 all in. They did a "$200.00" Porsche inspection for free which consisted of measuring my tires, brakes and checking fluids (if they actually tested the brake fluid that would have been something anyway).

Also on the plus side they honored my request to not wash the car (I don't know if they normally do that or not).

One slightly annoying thing is the camera firmware update on the work order... they decided to start that at 4:00 PM and I had to wait around a bit for it to finish. Not long mind you, but they had the car for 2 full days and that could have been done at any time. The cameras did work when I was pulling into my garage but I never had an issue with them blacking out so not sure what to look for.

Also on the annoying side, my car was pretty darn clean from 7 hours of work over last weekend. It stay out in the rain this morning and is dirty now (time to test my new power washer set up tomorrow).

On a side note, I asked how they were fixing rattles I can reproduce and he said good. I may test them with that soon.

One other odd thing. They inflated my tires to 37 PSI on all four.

According to the last bulletin on this, I believe the updated data says, for Summer Tires/UHP: 37/39 partial load and 41/44 full load (same as the door jam sticker). The My Porsche App shows 37 as correct though.
