Hi, I have a 2021 Taycan and consistently experience issues with my Car key's battery draining. I seem to need to replace the battery every two months. Is anyone else experiencing the same issue?

^ This is the best and immediate thing to do.

Also, if you dropped your key, this is known to pinch contacts and have your key constantly on, so be sure and observe the communication from the key to car by monitoring led light on the key. You can also look in the manual how to disable key comm with car temporarily by doing some button presses and see if that helps.

Note, the key proximity can potentially also drain the 12v battery too.

I always turn my key off by simultaneously pressing the lock and unlock buttons until the red led on the key illuminates.

I also do this. You can also turn off comfort lock in the PCM

Also, don’t buy cheap rubbish cr2032 batteries, some real shockers out there - I even got some that were way to thin, and should have been marked as cr2025 batteries.

incidental the numbers on those batteries are diameter in mm and thickness is 1/10mm ie 20mm diameter and 3.2mm thickness. :)

I appreciate all the comments about the key battery. I have question related to this that I never got around to posting. The batteries in my keys on the Taycan, our current 911 and previous Porsches including a Cayenne e-hybrid have typically lasted about 18 to 24 months. Recently I saw the dash warning that the key battery is low. Is there another warning before one needs to use the emergency key to open the door and go through the "hold the key here...." drill? The key fob is unreasonably difficult to open, so I switch keys (I do almost all of the driving so we never designated "my key", "my wife's key"). When both show the low-battery warning, then I swing into action with a sledge hammer and crowbar to change the battery on both.

And because you've read this far, I'll add my feedback after having the brake hose replacement completed a few weeks ago. The brakes work OK, but the pedal seems softer and I noticed that I have to apply more pressure when at a stop than before to avoid "creep". I tend to be an "all-in" driver so I really believe that the difference is real, but not enough that I would consider returning to the dealership. That said, for anyone about to have this work done, pay attention to "creep" when stopped.
