i believe "plug and charge" is limited by chargers, not by the car. In the EA app, it shows that "plug and charge" is enabled for my Taycan. IIRC, they also mentioned last year that they plan to roll that out by the end of this year.

I believe you're right, but Porsche still hasn't answered my question about that.

a quick question.

I know the pcm allows 2 phones to be simultaneously connected via BT. If one phone is connected to car play can the other one still run on BT?

my Mercedes originally only had 1 phone connected if using CarPlay but lately has updated to having BT on the 2nd phone simultaneously even when using CarPlay

Wrote to Stefan Monday afternoon and today early morning (Spanish style: 9:50) I get a call from the general manager of my dealer with answers to all my questions. Also offers I drop in and gives me his mobile number. So at least in my case, expectations were crushed with unexpected efficiency and efficacy!

I was told they are working on updating software to include wireless CarPlay and Smartlift soon on MY2020’s and making Sports Sound sticky later. Also that in the Spring there will be a kit to upgrade to 22KW. They were unable to give me a price on the upgrade.

To be clear, did they suggest that the updates (i.e., Wireless CarPlay, SmartLift, and Sticky Sports Sound) would be free and the 22kW upgrade would not? Or would all of them be paid upgrades?

Did not ask price except for 22kw which is not clear yet. I will ask when I drop into the dealer.

Sounds good. I will say that there are many owners would be disappointed to hear that the first group are paid, rather than free, updates. I see how they would justify it, but it would be disappointing nonetheless.

FWIW my dealer also stated that the WiFi CarPlay was still being tested and would be available in the spring. Considering my Audi still has “blank screen” issues with CarPlay two years out I’d rather they get it right than chuck it over the wall.

Agreed. Most of the time it works well, but I am largely ambivalent about wireless CarPlay. It's convenient for short trips, though.
I would rather be able to program more characteristics into the Individual drive setting (e.g., recuperation). Alas, that one is probably languishing at the bottom of a tickler somewhere deep inside Porsche...

Same here. But I am interested to see if the karaoke capability comes with the next version of Carplay with the wireless Carplay update.

That's weird. Also not clear whether that is a CarPlay (phone) functionality or an Apple Music (PCM) functionality. It would suggest that CarPlay would be available on the second screen (which it currently is not). That moves in the wrong direction for what I would want, as I would love the second screen to be available on the center display.

Yeah, not sure. I just was thinking that regardless of what it is, that they would provide both at the same update.
